Bio

Jazz Farm is a metalli-jazz band from Hollywood whose sound has been describe as "pure and raw" and likened to "Jimmy Page if he had been more into mushrooms." Critics agree by saying Jazz Farm has a "blistering improvisational style that reflects all the influences favorably compared to including Al Di Meola and John McLaughlin along with personal hard rock heroes Van Halen and AC/DC." (Jonathan Widran, All Music Guide)

Jazz Farm has released the incendiary new album, "The Trim Reaper." The new album is nationally distributed by Burnside Distribution as well as digitally distributed by iTunes, Rhapsody, and DigStation. In addition to shows on the "Reaper Nation" Tour, a publicity and marketing campaign will be employed to provide exposure to the media, public, and "ever so sly" college radio.

Jazz Farm consists entirely of alumni from CalArts and was formed in early 2002. The founding member, Scott Farr (guitar), modeled the band after two of his favorites, The Tony Williams Lifetime and Van Halen. An incendiary roster rounds out the group with the beautiful Sharon Fatoorechi (Which One's Pink?) on vocals, John Wood (Mike Andrews, Inara George) on keyboards, Tony Austin (Salvador Santana, Theo Saunders, John Abercrombie) on Drums, as well as Nate Wood (Chaka Khan, Kneebody) on drums. Jazz Farm perfoms in Los Angeles at venues such as The Roxy, The Key Club, BB Kings, Mr. T's Bowl, The Joint, 14 Below, and Industry Showcases at Swinghouse Studios. in addition, the Jazz Farm songs, "Chicken's and Bitches" and "Oh, Hey Staci..." have been used in feature films such as Hillside Cannibals and Halloween Night, and Snakes on a Train.

Jazz Farm focuses on successful live performances as it's main career path. Building and maintaining a comprehensive fan database for performance cities guarantees successful shows for the band, promoters, and booking agents in this volatile business climate. In addition, live show album sales are a stable and key revenue source for the band.

With the release of the new album, "The Trim Reaper," Jazz Farm adds a piece of solid harmonic "mastery" to it's fiery catalog. With a foot rooted strongly in the past, Jazz Farm plows into the future. As Greg Burk from the LA Weekly put it, "blazing on a nasty-toned Les Paul, blues leaking from his shoes, crackling with the excess energy of youth and uncoolness. The presence of John Wood's organ may raise flashes of some old Tony Williams trio with Larry Young and John McLaughlin... Scott Farr of Jazz Farm plays guitar like you wished you could when you were a kid "
