JAZZLAZER

Steven Tolson aka “Jazz” is originally from Los Angeles, CA. Between growing up in a house where his mother kept classic R & B/ soul music in heavy rotation as well as being introduced to the Michael Jackson movie “American Dream”, Jazz’s interest in being an entertainer grew at light speed. He started out dancing and not long after became the kid everyone talked about in town, but it wasn’t until he was about 15 that he started getting into rap from hanging around his older brother Keion. His freshman year of high school, Jazz moved to Las Vegas where he attended Basic High School and met his best friend, the hottest MC in town named Michael “Fresh” Selva, rest in peace.

Fresh inspiration was the spark that took Jazz’s work ethic/development as a rapper to the next level. In June of 2006 after a performance he was introduced to producer Jimmy Giannos who he would build a brotherly relationship with and begin to create a sound. Not long after, the two linked up with R & B group I-15 and producer Dominic Jordan. The talented bunch took a trip to Atlanta to work out of a premiere studio where not only would Jazz discover his R & B/ Pop songwriting talent, but the joint forces of Jimmy and DJ who today are The Audibles and Das Simmons aka Mr. Pyro would serve as his main production weapons. Currently Jazz is signed to Future Music under Mally Mall and writing extraordinaire Poo Bear. It is a ticking time bomb for the high fashioned/fire spitting MC to explode on the scene with a presence that is inspired by the King of Pop. In the midst of getting ready to drop a classic mixtape that has all the elements of an album and continue his journey to the top, Jazz’s main focuses are to provide for his daughter Jazzelle, entertain and inspire the world.
