Bio

Jason Williams a.k.a JBilla, was born and raised on the infamous Westside of Chicago. At the age of 12, JBilla got his first keyboard which stimulated his interest in music. He later began playing the drums for his grandparents church and at the age of 13 JBilla became the head drummer in his marching band at his elementary school, Gregory. A few years later Jbilla shifted his love for music from playing music to playing with words through rapping. JBilla and his cousin, Lil Ghost, began to rap together. Later JBillas brother, Colion, joined him and his cousin and they formed a group called, The Untouchables. They went on to record 3 songs before they split up. The split allowed Jbilla to develop his own style through continued work and devotion to the rap game. He eventually met and started rapping with a couple of friends who later formed a group called, third degree. Third Degree began recording and performing throughout Chicago at at various places such as, The 705 Club, Chicago West Club, Lafollete Park, The Clique and others. After Jbilla graduated from High School Third Degree went there separate ways. Not long after the split with Third Degree, JBilla hooked back up with his cousin, Lil ghost, who had started his own label, Red Hot Records. Lil Ghost brought Jbilla onto his label and they succeeded in recording their first LP within 2 months. In addition, they got cds printed, packaged, and succeded in selling their cds on a local level. JBilla & Lil Ghost did shows throughout Chicago and even Indiana performing their hit song Red Hot. As a result of JBillas and Lil Ghosts the buzz created due to their street promotion and multiple performances/shows, a local tv show host, Royce Glamour, contacted Red Hot for their first TV appearance in 2000. Their performance was so successful that The Austin Voice, a local newspaper, contacted Red Hot for an interview. . His work in the studio has led him to produce multiple songs along with his first cd, Da Compilation, released on October 1, 2005. Merging his producing skills along with his lyrical skills Jbilla has created an 8 song album that any fan of rap and hip hop is sure to enjoy. Da Compilation, produced by JBILLAZPRODUCTIONZ can be purchased online at www.lulu.com . In addition, music and show information can be found at JBillas website, www.xanga.com/jnt1118.
