Bio

Nod Factor Record recording artist J Billz is currently writing, producing, and performing his own music. His music is capturing the interest of industry insiders. Lately he has been keeping company with recording artist DJ Unk ("Walk It Out") and Silas Da Kid, DJ Q Suffix (an Aphilliate) and David Tolliver (Men At Large); and as of this writing J Billz is working with Jive recording artist Huey (Baby Huey).

Born in May 1986 the "J Billz" brand is a mixture of Hip Hop, Pop, Rap and Rock. He has always enjoyed music. Early influences come from a home filled with the musical textures from Motown to Classical and Contemporary Gospel; from R&B to Jazz and Rock. J Billz's dad is a jazz artist and his mother a gifted vocalist. He has other family members who have sung professionally and are excellent instrumentalist. At the age of 7, J Billz studied piano under the Suzuki method and charmed the local community at his recitals. He took up drumming at the age of 10, by the age of 12 decided he enjoyed vocals more. J Billz has a good ear for harmony and tone quality as displayed when singing movie scores in duet with his mother. Around the same time he began listening to LL Cool J, Run DMC, and a host of other artists, thus beginning his life interest with Hip Hop.

The "J Billz" brand appeals to a diverse audience. He is creating a sound that many say is "refreshing" for the Rap industry. A listener was quoted saying "He has a little old school and dirty south." J Billz is currently working on his college radio tour across the mid-west. Students are getting the opportunity to hear for themselves his work in Hip Hop. The radio call-in responses have been favorable, getting as many as 3 to 4 requests per hour. J Billz feels studio interviews are a fun way for his audiences to meet him. He is also getting air-play around the country on internet radio.
