Bio

HAILING FROM Miami, FL, JB, also known as Thomas K. Jean-Bart, is the premier R&B singer/song writer to burst into the music industry. The 22-year old, Haitian- American was born on December 8, 1987. An intimate and soulful singer, JB has used an assortment of past struggles and influences to mold him into the motivated musical artist he is today.
Growing up in Miami, JB was raised by a single mother who worked hard to ensure he had everything he needed. Although it was a struggle for her to raise a son, he realized and developed his gift for music through singing and song writing. He faced yet another obstacle early on in his music stardom. His father was paralyzed from the neck down in an auto accident in Atlanta, Georgia. Amazingly, he recovered from his injuries and began to improve. This tragic situation further motivated JB to continue in music, believing that nothing is impossible. Not to complain, JB uses these and other life struggles along with his firm belief in Jesus Christ, to motivate his passion and pursuit of success in the music business. When asked about the best things involved with being an artist, he feels that being paid for something he loves to do, traveling the world, and having the ability to move people through his music, stand out among many things. He believes the worst thing about being an artist is always being in the spot light, dealing with criticism, being underestimated, and always being compared to other artists. In today’s music industry, a lot of people make and break promises to up-and-coming artists. JB experienced such an incident. He won an eight-week competition given by a local radio station in conjunction with a major record label. He was promised an opportunity to record his album in the record label’s studio. When the deal fell through, his hopes were crushed because he did not have the financial backing to record otherwise. Realizing his loss, he decided to work and save money in order to record his music. This stumbling block only strengthened his drive to succeed in the business.
JB’s budding music career has not come without hard work and growing pains. On the other hand, his most memorable career moments were when he performed his first show and observed the reaction he got from friends who didn’t know he could sing, and hearing his song on the radio for the first time.
Through all the struggles and hardships, he one day hopes to ink a deal with a major record label. His determination to excel at his craft grew from the support of his parents, grandparents, extended family, music comrades, and various promoters who noticed his skills and pushed him towards pursuing a successful musical career.Music has always been a part of JB’s life. He began singing gospel music and later fell in love with the R&B genre, being most inspired by artists such as: Jamie Fox, Genuwine, Usher, and Lauren Hill. Through his song writing, JB is able to tell real-life stories put to music, which correlates to his ability to deliver the same message vocally. JB wants others to know that he tries to come harder on every track, he is a very hard worker, and he is always out to help others.
