"Life, Love & Worship CD Review"

If you like worship music, you'll love J. Brian Hill's "Life, Love & Worship" project. He brings you immediately into praising God with his upbeat song "Your Love Is Higher." Song after song Brian delivers strong vocals along with great production. I'm very impressed with the quality of this project. His ballad "Source of My Strength" is particularly moving. I found myself singing along with Brian agreeing with him that I will put my trust in God. Great song, Brian! For "In Your Presence" Brian brought in Candy Kless to sing a duet with him. This is a very nice song and adds nice variety to the project. "Pour Out" is an awesome song! I can definitely see praise teams all over the country singing this one. He ends the project on the great upbeat song "Walkin' With Jesus." Once again his song brings you into a praise and worship experience compelling you to keep "walkin' with Jesus." Overall this is a really solid project from Brian. I can't wait to hear his next one. You can get Brian's project "Life, Love & Worship" at www.kcchristianmusic.com.

"Source of my Strength"

The Lord used a song to speak to me today. He truly caused me to hear the words of the song, to hear it with my heart and not just my ears. He used this song to remind me that I am to put my trust in Him. The song is “Source of My Strength” by J. Brian Hill.

It opened my heart to the Lord. It allowed Him to come in and again apply the balm of His healing power to the wounds of my heart, of my spirit, those areas which only can be touched by the Hand of God. The song reminded me, that He, the Lord is the source of my strength, the source of my being and I am to put my trust, absolutely, totally and completely in Him.

Even through the tears, He reaches out and touches and heals and sees each tear, each drop. He sees the pain, the hurt, the wounds, the loneliness and the fear, of not just me but of others and He says, “I am here my son, I am here my daughter, I see the tears, the wounds.”

As Brian shares in this song, that when life’s shadows fall on us, that we can give those fears to our Father and when we are overcomed by life, we can craw into the arms of safety of our Father. That He is there.

That indeed He is the source of our being, and that we are to put our trust in Him, for He is our strength, our life!

Let Him be your source and strength, and don’t me afraid to run and crawl into the arms of safety of our Heavenly Father!

"The Shepherd's Story Review"

The Shepherd's Story is definately one of my favorites of everything out there right now. I love the bass guitar, the tastefully done trumpet hooks, and your strong vocal!
The lyrics and overall feel of the song is perfect for what I'm trying to do with the Christmas Radio Network.

Again, thanks for helping me to spread the Good News worldwide! Last year the station was listened to in close to 200 countries.

"DuPage County Fair"

The DuPage County Fair Association was pleased to showcase J. Brian Hill as a featured artist on our main Entertainment Stage at the 2005 DuPage County Fair in Wheaton, Illinois. Our music programming is carefully chosen to appeal to a broad audience spectrum, since we stage our Fair in a dynamic, multi-ethnic Chicago suburb, home to nearly one million residents. The Sunday programming of our five-day Fair is traditionally focused on family entertainment, we saw a great marketing opportunity in hiring a Contemporary Christian artist to lead off the Entertainment Stage acts. We engaged J. Brian Hill because of his proven local fan base, the quality of his recordings, prior positive media reviews, strong songwriting skills and his ability to establish an immediate rapport with his audiences. Brian''s talented backup group elevated the level of musicianship and by the end of their show, they had moved the crowd to clap, hum and participate in his music ministry. We were very pleased with the artistry of J. Brian Hill, and hope to engage his services in the future. - Holly Yeates / Second Vice President

"Article from Chicago Daily Herald"

He decides to go for it - a career as a recording artist. He makes his first recording and the response is phenomenal. He soars to the top of the Internet charts.

What's next for Christian recording artist, J. Brian Hill? A music video.

"I had this one song that I had done, called 'Tapestry of Memories,' that I could really see visually," Hill said. "It just seemed like the natural progression, but doing a video is a huge financial investment."

Sometimes support, even financial, comes in unlikely places and not in the usual way.

"I was sitting in the back of a bus on a dusty road on Abacos Island. I was part of a group doing a mission trip there," he added. "I started talking about doing a video and the others on the bus convinced me I should try it."

It really helped when a private party stepped up and offered to help Hill with the necessary funding.

Working with Eric Groth of Big Grin Studios in St. Charles, Hill started the journey of putting a visual story to music. He chose to feature his most popular single, "Your Love Is Higher," on the video in an effort to show the natural beauty of creation in relation to humanity.

The video was shot at various locations around the area from the dense forest of Johnson's Mound to a beautiful garden at a home in West Chicago. Some shots were done in the open space behind Hill's church, Sanctuary, and some were taken in his own back yard.

"The whole experience was very worthwhile," Hill said. "But I must admit it was much harder than going into the studio to record for the first time. I felt much more vulnerable."

I certainly can understand that. It's often easier to hide behind the words or a lyric rather than put yourself out in front for all to see.

Hill found the new experience of doing a video interesting, such as seeing how the camera angles were shot and how the editing was done. He knew he wanted to tell a story with this video and that is exactly what he has done.

"The DVD features a five minute opening about me, explaining who I am, my passion for music and my love for my family," he said. "Then there is a 25-minute portion that centers on worship music and features the rest of my group, Candy Kless, Kris Brueckner and Emily Halliwell. That part is done at my church."

While working on the video, people would often stop and watch. Sometimes it would just be a friendly wave from an onlooker. Or a rip-roaring sound of a Harley-Davidson engine.

"While we were filming, a group of Harleys went roaring by," he added. "We had to stop and wait for them to pass because the sound was so loud, I just had to laugh. How often does that happen?"

All in all it was a good experience and Hill is anxious for his fans to see the end result at a release party this weekend at the Sanctuary. It takes place at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church at 1S430 Wenmoth Road on the west side of Batavia. The concert is a free event.

"2006 News"

It seems there is no stopping the Kansas City Christian Music Awards 2005 Worship Artist of the Year, J. Brian Hill. Following a successful year that has seen Brian complete his very first UK Tour, Brian has gone one step better and picked up the Male Vocalist of the Year award for 2006. This year’s award is all the more special too as his oldest son, Bailey was there to see him receive it. Brian recalls the moment he was announced as the winner, “Bailey was whooping in my ear... and I barely heard that I won. I still have to go look at the award to make sure I didn't dream it!”. This achievement is a great reward for Brians hard work and efforts over the past year and, more importantly, his faithfulness to God’s calling upon his life. This dedication led to Brian feeling compelled by God to visit the UK in March even though it was not clear what the outcome of this would be. Brian performed seven concerts in just under a week as well as undertaking some recording for his next project, but more importantly, he touched the lives of so many people during the time he was there. His new found UK fans are testament to that, having flooded his website with so many wonderful comments, thanks and words of encouragement. Brian’s continuing efforts with All God’s Children International have also very much been a part of the last twelve months with his third recording project “I Have Hope” continuing to raise money for this wonderful organisation. With all this going on, there can be no doubt that Brian is truly a Man of God, an amazing Worship Leader and an incredibly talented artist. - Robin Thompson
