Their set is highly enjoyable, comprised of Seasick Steve inspired Blues and 70s rock 'n' roll. Lyrically the songs are strong as the music rises and falls mirroring the baritone story telling of the front man. It's a beautiful homage to black-American blues. - Leeds Music Scene
Love this band. Full of Groove and full of Soul

Bio
JBW & The Rakers are a trio based in the city of Leeds. After meeting as card dealers at a local casino, they formed in February 2011. The Rakers have established a dynamic intensity which draws upon the early Roots-Blues of Robert Johnson and the raw creativity of bands like The Black Keys, Yeah Yeah Yeah's and Seasick Steve. Combining a heady mix of passion, vigour and lyrical potency, their music captures the spirit of seventies Blues Rock and Roll whilst remaining constant in the folk song tradition of songwriters such as Paul Simon, John Martyn and Bert Jansch.
