Bio

JC Wallace started studying music at 12 years old because he wanted to be like Elvis Presley. This was very funny but no one can be like The King, so JC moved on from the Elvis thing and started listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eagles, The Clash, Stooges, Sex Pistols.

He started his first rock n roll band with 14, and they played a lot of Sabbath stuff and tried out some own compositions. That band was called Black Mariah. Curiously, they abandoned the heavy songs and started playing Nirvana, Rage Against The Machine, Silverchair and Smashing Pumpkins. These influences were soon incorporated to their own style of composing, and the band did great shows and sold a lot of t-shirts.

Obviously, Black Mariah ended. And then came the Soumel era. This new JC's band was very different. Their influences were the blues-rock of Ben Harper and Led Zeppelin, the punk of The Clash with all that beat stuff they did, and a lot of solos. Soumel played through all the coast beaches of São Paulo and a few clubs. It had that beach flavor. They had a great production, with their own PA equipment, their own technician and sometimes a producer to help. Well, it ended.

That last episode was really difficult to believe was ended. But when you love rock n roll, things can always change, and suddenly JC was playing with two fellows, Manga and Gabriel, and they formed the original Paletó Em Brasília.

Paletó did left his mark at the indie circuit of bands in Brasil. They have not done too many performances, but everybody knew their songs, and all the indie webradios were playing Paletó Em Brasília, because they really rocked hard and had that desirable pop side at the same time. They recorded an EP called "My Machine", then an indie record called "Tardes No Meia Oito", which turned into a classic record in São Paulo state where people named it as "the little blue disc", and also recorded another EP, called "Você Sabe Que Amanheceu". They also did a few webvideos and performed in clubs in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Paraná. Their influences were Foo Fighters, Ramones, The Killers, Queens of The Stone Age and things like that.

Nowadays, JC Wallace is finishing his first solo album. It is already recorded and is in mixing/mastering process. His buddy Faadiah offered JC all his studio structure for free, with Neve and Universal Audio pre-amps, Marshall amps and lots of great equipment, endorsing the project. It is close to get ready, and this is the project that JC wants to show people. It is the greatest rock n roll record of this decade and it will rock you for sure.
