JC Young

BandRockCountry

We are an energetic mix of rock/southern rock, with a current mix of modern country vocals, with sounds similar to the Eagles, ZZ Top, and Little Big Town.

Biography

For years Josh and Chris have played in bands rocking Boston and New England. Luck would bring them together about 3 years ago when they started playing for the same country rock band. The pair instantly drew on each others strengths and when Josh parted ways with the band, Josh and Chris starting writing songs together. With life as inspiration, they wrote songs envisioning a band that could touch upon anyone's experiences---from growing up in a blue collar town, to love, to drinking beer with good friends, and the trouble that we all get into. That band is J.C. YOUNG.

The vision of the band included more than just the two of them. They wanted to bring in a solid female vocalist. Kellie Jane (Chris's sister) came to the band and was the only choice for them. Her high end harmonies and lead vocal abilities coupled with Chris and Josh's middle driving lead vocals and guitar sounds made for the perfect fit. After finding the solid rhythm section of Keith Sullivan and Tim Baumann, J.C. Young came together to create melodic southern rock mayhem that only fuels the souls urge to party...

Lyrics

Rise or Fall

Written By: Josh Kleiner

VERSE 1
Well it was tough growing up when I was seventeen
Weren’t a boy or a man or somewhere in between
We were causing lots of trouble, we were breaking down doors
I knew I had something but I wanted something more

PRECHORUS
When I reached up for the sky, I found that there was nothing
I never asked him why

CHORUS
We don’t live in the life we choose
We don’t grow holding a silver spoon
We all play the hand we’re dealt, we could win or lose
Learn to read the writing on the wall
Learn that I can choose to rise or fall

VERSE 2
Well it was tough getting older I was 25
Didn’t want to be a man, just wanna live my life
We were trucking down the freeway, we were trying to get lost
I knew I had to settle down, didn’t wanna be pushed around

CHORUS
We don’t live in the life we choose
We don’t grow holding a silver spoon
We all play the hand we’re dealt, we could win or lose
Learn to read the writing on the wall
Learn that I can choose to rise or fall

I Blame the Whiskey

Written By: Chris Martin

VERSE 1
We’re gonna line em up before we shoot em down
Wave our money (honey) all around
On the rocks, or jimmy straight
He’s the man we love to hate

CHORUS
Momma shoulda told me
Don’t ya get crazy
Don’t go lookin’ for T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Momma shoulda told me
Don’t ya get crazy
It’s a little hazy.. but
I blame the whiskey

VERSE 2
We’re gonna burn the lights down one by one
No cashin’ out til the weekends done
Whatcha want (son), whatcha need
She came with you but shes leavin’ with me

CHORUS
Momma shoulda told me
Don’t ya get crazy
Don’t go lookin’ for T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Momma shoulda told me
Don’t ya get crazy
It’s a little hazy.. but
I blame the whiskey

BRIDGE
Pick me up, I can’t find my way
And I’m waking up to another day
Faint of heart need not apply
When your starin’ into Jim Beams eyes

CHORUS
Momma shoulda told me
Don’t ya get crazy
Don’t go lookin’ for T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Momma shoulda told me
Don’t ya get crazy
It’s a little hazy.. but
I blame the whiskey
I blame the whiskey
I blame the whiskey
