Bio

Despite the fact that his audiences adored his singing and dancing, it was not until Larry was around 19 years old that he even began to consider his singer/songwriter talent as a career move. Larry always believed he could accomplish anything if he put his mind to it. So a new pursuit began.

Larry has his own technique of dissecting music, replicating it then reconstructing its sound in a different and enhanced fashion. His knowledge of music extends over an array of categories and he expertly manages every level. Larry is learning how to work through his shyness and when he does, great things rise to the surface. He is thorough with projects. Larry explains that he was in fact, tone deaf and had very little range when he was younger. But he knows that nothing comes easily. He had a mark to hit and what he called “his own devils to battle and overcome” was but another challenge to hurdle.

Larry grew up as “a pew.” Someone who spends much of their time in and under the Ministry. Raised under the COGIC guidance, his mother made sure he was in service at least 4 to 6 times a week.

Larry’s favorite artists today are Tonex', Dietrick Haddon, JMoss, Tye Tribbett, Justin Timberlake, Musiq Soulchild, and Beyonce. Each artist holds an interest to him individually specific reasons. Larry’s music is not genre specific. He is a lover of pure music. He likes the twang found in country songs; the bass in a hip hop track; the lead in a rock joint, as well as the drive in a pop tune. Larry embraces it all, while at same time anchoring God as his foundation; faith as his core and; his music is more inspirational than anything. The words in his song are powerful and moving; seasoned with Spiritual age, they have a way of drawing one’s ear to hear. Larry found himself in a place where there was literally no one to lean on, but God. He began to find strength, make strength and become the author of and empowering that, which many are not even sure, exist. This is where Larry’s songs come from. He explains that, “My sanctuary is the road. Put me on the road and I will sleep like a baby; sing like a superstar; speak the oracles of Life, and; receive vision like a prophet. On the road I'm in a zone that cannot be distracted or detoured.”

J D C is his new name… He describes the acronym as a secret for now. He tells us to stick around long enough and the mystery will be revealed. For someone so young, “J D C” bares substance and depth. He explains that “depth poses longevity, it presents stand power.” The Word J D C speaks has carried him through seriously tough times and It continues to carry him today. Of all the songs J D C has written, his favorite is entitled "Patience." This is the epitome of who he has become. He clarifies that, “Patience does not wait in stillness; it is always persevering until change and transformations manifest.” Spend time with J D C; listen to the music that surges inside of him. You will be impressed.
