"JDP- Chicago's own Kanye West?"

http://thelemurblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/jdp-chicagos-own-kanye-west.html

Oh wait, Kanye West IS from Chicago. Oh well. Anyway, so is JDP, which you've been able to read previously on the blog. As I've told you before: this dude's tracks are so hot and fresh, I'm dazzled by the fact that he is not yet playing around with the big guys already. Now that Kanye has turned to the singing side of things, he might not be interested in a collaboration for the nearest future. Which by all means of physical logics should mean JDP is ready to take over as the rap/hip-hop king of Chicago.

Nah, but for real - that's the way he's keeping it: real. JDP is fully capable of both stepping into the jiggy bounce social club and get his synth-crunky bling-mood on AND step right out the backdoor into the sometimes harsh reality we after all live in and deliver those lines equally accurate and confident. Sometimes even in the same single track, like the new politically and topically hot one: Freedom Land! As he says about it himself: "It has the energy of a song you would bump in the jeep, but the words make it something else."

And with the Adam Tensta-esque style as presented in the picture of this post, I'm in no doubt that time has greater things in store for JDP. - http://thelemurblog.blogspot.com

"Cool Kids, Who?"

http://hotbiscuits.wordpress.com/2009/04/25/cool-kids-who/

There hasn’t been any notable Hip-Hop going on in this city for a while now, Cool Kids seem to be sleeping and… Well, who else is there really? If you ask me, JDP is the only one bringing “that bounce” to the table in regards to the local Hip-Hop scene. His last single “Styrofoam Cup” earned him a feature on one of Chicago’s biggest radio stations and he’s currently working on a project with Terry Kennedy of Ice Cream, not to mention preparing a mixtape for a 2009 release. - http://hotbiscuits.wordpress.com/

"Unsigned Hype- JDP"

There are many different ways to convey talent, sometimes talent is taught, and sometimes others are born with the gift.

As a youth JDP spent much of his time writing. Born on Chicago's south side, his stories were based on what he has seen and heard. At an early age his mother instilled the passion for music in him, something he holds with him to this day. Spending the latter half of his life outside of Chicago, the artist began writing music at age 13. By 15, he started his own label and began selling copies of his music out of his backpack. Unlike other kids, JDP's sole focus was, and always has been... the music. In 2006 JDP teamed up with partner Jay Torres, to begin Flyy City Media Group, LLC. Since then the self-proclaimed "future of the game," has been making steady moves to reach his goal, The Top.

In a time when hip-hop is being scrutinized by many as a dying movement, its own artists doubt the art form. On the other hand JDP delivers his own brand of music to the masses. Combining his love of writing with his love of music, the artist delivers incredible bangers. Every song is another piece of the puzzle, matching an amazing flow with humor and intelligence. JDP easily brings out the emotions of a track, and represents all sides of the spectrum; ushering in what he calls "Motivation Music." His sound is unique and fresh, and he is what you call a new voice in Hip Hop! JDP is an artist with the ability to hit and connect every time he holds a mic, or writes a verse.

In 2007 JDP has been about all work and no play, and he can show you better than he can tell you. JDP has already put accolades under his belt including a hit single "Like A Skateboard," that has received airplay all over the country, as well as overseas. The song charted in Music Choice and has found its way on iTunes and numerous mixtapes. A remix to the song is currently in the works, and features Fly Society artists Hit & Terry Kennedy (captain of the Ice Cream Skate Team). In June of 2007, he found himself participating in TheNext.tv's "Making the Next Hit" featuring Lil Wayne, and also has been the subject of various online magazines and blogs. JDP made it to the 2nd round of the competition, and received positive reviews and feedback for his performance. 2007 has also seen JDP perform with major recording acts such as Rich Boy, Shawnna, Cap-1 & GLC, as well as gaining songwriting credits for G-Unit's recording artist Spider Loc.

So what's next for JDP?

With an unparalleled grind and determination, JDP is poised for great accomplishments. Maturing his songwriting ability, JDP has worked with numerous up-and-coming artists in and outside of the Chicago area. The artist has expanded his talents, by working and writing for R&B artist as well as hip-hop artist. His collaboration with R&B artist Taylor Mallory "On the Low," is currently receiving airplay and positive feedback. JDP's follow up single "I'm Fresh," has already begun surfacing publicity, scoring a remix with Miami's own Benisour tha Don. His debut project "Defying Gravity," is still in the works and is planned for a 2008 release. His "Only for the Flyyest," campaign is in full effect with his Flyy City family, who are steadily making moves as well. The days ahead look bright for JDP, as he continues to climb toward his goals. Be on the lookout for the future of hip-hop artist JDP and his music.

Bio

JDP has been working on music since he was a teen selling copies of his first mix tape when he was 15. Much has changed for this Chicago born MC who's music combines elements of Pop, Club, & Hip Hop to create danceable tunes layered with witty lyrics.

Since moving back to Chicago in 2005, JDP has taken the scene by storm performing at every venue from the dance clubs to the house parties, pulling moments from every event and its aftermath to craft his songs. Capturing both the highs and the lows helps give JDP a unique perspective and a individual voice.

His house party anthem "Styrofoam Cups" captured the attention of the cities biggest radio station and its popularity got him tagged as 'Artist of the month' in his hometown.

JDP's performances have also generated a buzz and he has been asked to open for major recording artists such as Rich Boy, Twista & The Cool Kids.

After releasing his first EP on Itunes, his song like a skateboard was placed on Music Choice and attracted the attention of skateboarder Terry Kennedy & Swedish MC Adam Tensta. Both artists have collaborated with JDP on his upcoming mix tape 'Air Raid' due out in June.

Most recently JDP was selected as one of URB magazines next 100 artists to watch for.
