Bio

Jd Webb, already an award-winning and critically lauded singer, songwriter and producer, is set for his big moment. Known for captivating audiences with his soulful vocals and charismatic stage performances, Jd will surely seduce a whole new audience with his solo debut album THE INTRODUCTION (Infinite Music Group), set for an August 25th, 2009 release.

Jd’s voice is both familiar and intimate, and his fluid singing and astute lyrics belie his age. The songs on THE INTRODUCTION transcend generational, cultural and social boundaries with a combination of heartfelt ballads, up tempo dance grooves and soul-stirring melodies. On “Big For Me,” his slinky melody and surprising ad libs perceptive lyrics which even include a quote from Shakespeare (“If music be the food of love, play on”). On the album’s title track, “The Introduction,” Jd croons in a timeless falsetto and then delivers a musical resume to his listeners:

“Well maybe you should know a little about me

Don’t smoke, no kids never been married

Born December 9th

Cherry pie, red wine, starry nights

I love to fly and

I get high on life

Really close to my mom and my pop

I got a little sis that I love a lot”

Jd’s musical background is pretty eclectic, and includes “pop, rock and anything R&B,” says the singer/songwriter. “Music has always been woven into the fabric of my family. Most of my best childhood memories revolve around music. My Mom and her sisters were in a Christian group when I was younger. In the summers I remember traveling around the country with them on a tour bus. I was their opening act!”

Growing into his own, Jd has performed before tens of thousands of fans in the U.S. and around the world, first as a member of the hugely popular award-winning pop band Raze and then as a successful solo artist. He has received many awards and accolades during his career and has been named a “prolific songwriter” by Rolling Stone and CCM magazine, as well as being awarded the esteemed Billboard magazine’s “Stamp of Approval.”

Romance is at the root of his artistry. “I feel like romancing a lady is the most important thing a guy can learn,” says Jd. “Being a hopeless romantic, I love the poetry of chivalry. Making great music is all about the magic.” With musical influences ranging from Stevie Wonder to Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway to Michael McDonald, Jd adds, “I feel strongly about the absence of musicality in today’s music. It is so manufactured. I’m really trying to change that.”

As a seasoned vocalist who has mastered multiple instruments -- including piano, guitar and drums -- in his career, Webb has shared the stage with acts such as: POD, Lifehouse, Johnny Lang, Michael McDonald, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Sixpence, None the Richer and Jars Of Clay, just to name a few. Jd is also the resident songwriter for the sexy and popular daytime drama “Days of Our Lives,” creating dramatic music that is heard every day for the show’s millions of fans.

Courted by countless major labels as his solo career began to take off, Jd chose to sign with the independent label Infinite Music Group. Infinite Music Group is a new, innovative music company that gives Jd the freedom and flexibility to market and distribute the music he creates using the internet, social network marketing and creative new media concepts. Jd will be releasing his highly anticipated debut album The Introduction, on August 25, 2009.

Jd Webb has poured his heart and soul into The Introduction. “As an artist, I’d like to be remembered for making great music - songs with real longevity. The kind of songs that, when you hear them, they take you back to a specific memory in your past. – where you were and what you were doing. I want to be remembered for those kinds of songs.”

Based on the strength of THE INTRODUCTION, Jd is well on the way to achieving this goal.
