"5 ON THE FLY (PUNK/GARAGE EDITION)"

Apparently recorded in ‘a dirty jam hall in Waterloo’, ‘The Ghost of Jean Daddy’ resonates as if the band is playing to the great void that is modern humanity. Their message is not so much in their words (no one would listen anyway) but in their ‘don’t give a sh%t’ attitude. Not only do they sound somewhat like The Clash, but lead singer Jacob Anstey also has that Joe Strummer ‘hey, listen to me’ quality in his vocal delivery.

Except for “Press Vinyl at My Funeral” with its post-punk poetry and rhythmic bass, the songs fly at you in short cataclysmic spurts. After all, it doesn’t take very long to say ‘You’re all f$cked’. - Ride The Tempo

"Jean Daddy-The Ghost of Jean Daddy LP (2015)"

Country: Canada
Genre: Punk, Post Punk, Garage Rock, Noise Rock
Label: Self-Released
Tracks: 10

Jean Daddy is a four piece band from Kitchener, Ontario who formed in July of 2015. Jean Daddy play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of Punk, Post Punk, Garage Rock, and noise rock within their sound. Musically, Jean Daddy give nods to bands such as Hot Snakes, Cloak/Dagger, Wipers, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and the Stooges. Jean Daddy's sound is snotty, tense, spazzed out, and has a really cool late 70's garage rock swagger that's infectiously catchy and impossible to ignore. The Ghost Of Jean Daddy is Jean Daddy's debut ten song LP, which was released on November 13th, 2015. On The Ghost Of Jean Daddy, Jean Daddy offer up ten tracks of raw and dirty sounding punk, post punk, garage rock, and noise rock. Overall, The Ghost Of Jean Daddy is a killer LP and should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy! - Dead Air at The Pulpit
