Soprano Jean McClelland and pianist Bill McClelland present classic songs of the American theater by the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Stephen Sondheim, Frank Loesser, Jerome Kern and others. They have been widely acclaimed for the artistry and vitality they bring to this brilliant music.

Biography

Jean and Bill McClelland have brought their concerts of American song to audiences across the country for over twenty years to wide accalim. Their repertoire encompasses the classic theater songs of the great Broadway composers from Berlin to Sondheim.

Soprano Jean McClelland appeared in the Broadway production of Camelot starring Richard Harris and has performed leading roles in numerous musicals and operas including The Music Man, Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, Show Boat, A Little Night Music, The Pirates of Penzance and The Marriage of Figaro. She is also a renowned teacher of voice and the Alexander Technique and a member of the faculty of the New York Open Center in Manhattan.

Pianist Bill McClelland is also a noted composer, and his recent recording of choral works on Albany Records, "The Revenge of Hamish," has received international acclaim. As a performer, he has played in the orchestra of the Broadway production of The Pirates of Penzance and has worked with many groups and individual artists including the William Appling Singers & Orchestra, Joseph Papp’s Public Theater and Dance Theater Workshop. He is the leader of the popular swing band, The Feetwarmers.
