Jean*Ann Hand

BandCountryChristian

Upbeat, deep, engaging rock/country/pop.

Biography

Jean*Ann was born in Cleveland, OH and cites country music as her earliest musical memory. She remembers hearing her dad and his brothers playing guitar and singing Johnny Cash at family gatherings on the weekends. Religious music also became an early influence as she grew up singing at church functions throughout her school years. Moving to South Florida at the age of 9 opened up a whole new world of influences; the result is a rich blend that forms who she is as an artist and writer today.

Her music is not so much defined by style, but rather by the passion she brings to each song and performance. Full of energy and personality, Jean*Ann lights up a room just by walking in.

Jean*Ann took top honors in the Christian category of the 2003 Great American Song Contest. She also wrote & performed the theme song for the weekly series "Life on the Rock" on the worldwide Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).

Lyrics

UnApologize

Written By: Jean Ann Hand

My mama raised me well, taught me my p’s & q’s
When you’re asking you say please
When you receive you say thank you
But now I’m all grown up and I’ve re-prioritized
And I unaplogize
Yeah, I unapologize

All those times I said I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it, no
The times we both said I was wrong
I know there’s nothing wrong with me now, I can see it
It was your fault all along

Now I’m not asking you to stand up and take the blame
Because you never were the type of man to recognize your shame
But now it’s said and done, my hands are clean and dry
And I unapologize
Yeah, I unapologize.

And all those times I said I’m sorry
I didn’t mean it, no no no
Because looking back now, that was wrong
I know the problem’s not with me now, I can see it,
It was just you all along

Now I’m not asking you to stand up and take the blame
I know you never were the type of man to recognize your shame
But when I look back now, it’s through much clearer eyes
And I unapologize
Yeah, I unapologize.

Mercenary Mary

Written By: Jean Ann Hand

MERCENARY MARY

He said he’s gonna buy her a brand new shiny car
He said he’s got connections, yeah he’s gonna take her far
And Mary knows the way straight to the heart of any man
She’ll give a little bit to get the rest of what she can
Here comes Mary, there goes a piece of every man in town.

Well that’s Mercenary Mary and she makes no apology
That girl knows how to work it and she does so expertly
She’s got it to a science, yeah, she plays it like an art
Really she is just a good old-fashioned girl at heart
Here comes Mary, there goes a piece of every man in town

Mercenary Mary says she still believes in love
She says love should bring you comfort, and she looks comfortable enough
She’s smoothing out her forehead and she’s plumping up her lips
With her manufactured cleavage and her liposuctioned hips
Here comes Mary, there goes a piece of every man in town
Here comes Mary, there goes a piece of every man in town.

The Last Time

The Last Time
Words & music by JeanAnn Hand

Verse 1:
How long has it been since I've been in your arms?
You’d think I’d be over you now,
So I’ll spend one more night here crying alone
But this time I’m making this vow:
Chorus:
It’s the last time I’ll miss you like this,
The last time I’ll cry, the last time I’ll wish
The last time the tears fall while I reminisce
It’s the last time I’ll miss you like this.
Verse 2:
I can’t help the dreams that I have when I sleep
But I know that soon they will fade
If I can be strong from this moment on
And keep to the promise I made.

Chorus:
It’s the last time I’ll miss you like this,
The last time I’ll cry, the last time I’ll wish
The last time the tears fall while I reminisce
It’s the last time I’ll miss you like this.
Bridge:
I’ve said it before and I mean it this time
Tomorrow you’re out of my mind.

Chorus:
It’s the last time I’ll miss you like this,
The last time I’ll cry, the last time I’ll wish
The last time the tears fall while I reminisce
It’s the last time I’ll miss you like this.
It’s the last time I’ll miss you like this.
