"The Way or the Road"

"Feeling momentarily tired? Try this alternative: Give a listen to 'The Way or the Road.' The Next Chapter serves a healthy shot of musical energy. . . a rich mix of tunes from several musical traditions--Celtic, old time and bluegrass (that) race along a track faster than a bullet train, (and) the engineers who run this train are members of the same family--Jeanne Page on hammer dulcimer, Shane Page on guitar and bodhran, son Adam Page on mandolin and Irish bouzouki and daughter Laurel on fiddle."

- Albuquerque Journal

""The Next Chapter""

"Imagine the driving clack of Irish step dancing combined with whirligig finger-picking, and you get an idea of  this band’s approach to music. It’s tonal sparkle that flirts with frenzy. But not to worry: Just when your aural circuits seem ready to blow, they toss you a breather in the form of a mountain ballad or two. Then, once again, it’s off to the races.

The members of the band – Jeanne and Shane Page and their children, Adam and Laurel – are warm and witty. . .they are also, it seems, endlessly talented." - Janice Myers, "Mirage" Magazine

"Jeanne Page: Irish Songbook/Scottish Songbook"

"Mel Bay's series of instructional music books has gone a long way in filling the void with two new books, not only for hammered dulcimer players, but for dulcimer players interested in Celtic music: Scottish Songbook for Hammered Dulcimer and Irish Songbook for Hammered Dulcimer. . . Jeanne Page has done a marvelous job of arranging each piece. . . these are certainly valuable additions to the dulcimer player's library, especially for the price."

Bio

In 2001, "Hammered Dulcimer Chords" by Jeanne Page became a best seller for Mel Bay Publications and has since become a 'must have' text for any serious player of the instrument. A gifted arranger, Jeanne has also contributed to the national repertoire with her numerous songbooks.

Jeanne's passion for exploration on this ancient instrument has led to an innovative approach of traditional styles such as Celtic, Old-Time and Bluegrass. While the term "virtuoso" has been used to describe her hammered dulcimer performance, award winning vocals supported by the dynamic musicality of her band also contribute to a magical experience at any "Jeanne Page & the Next Chapter" performance.

Jeanne has performed on radio, television, festival main stages and in concert for more than twenty years and has had the honor of being a guest soloist for "The Lord of the Rings Symphony," has jammed on stage with "The Chieftains," and before Michael Flatley's "Lord of the Dance" extravaganza. She has been featured in the internationally distributed magazine "Dulcimer Player News" and is a regular contributer to Mel Bay's internet magazine "Dulcimer Sessions."
