Bio

In 8th Grade Jéan Pierre Johnson realized that Hip-Hop was his calling. After a performance in front of his classmates he knew that this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.

Listen to a few tracks by Jean P and you’ll find a story of passion and heart – something lacking in most hip hop artists’ lyrics these days. Increasingly original, Johnson is an emcee from Canton, OH and even with a slew of mixtapes under his belt he’s constantly working and creating more music to get his message out there and that message is...Hip Hop is here to stay. His release, “A Rhyme and a Dream” showcases his life story, bringing forward the hardships he’s had to overcome from losing his mother to cancer at the age of fifteen to being bullied in middle school, these experiences helped show him the way to his dream and the lyrics to his rhymes.

To rap is one thing, but to tell a story through rapping and is something else. Upon receiving Kanye West’s “College Dropout” from his mother, Johnson was forever changed. He knew not only did he want to make hip hop a large part of his life, but he wanted to use it to tell the world a story.

After graduating with awards of academic success from McKinley Senior High School, Johnson was accepted to Ohio University where he would meet the future executive producer of his albums and one of his best friends Christopher Summers. The pair would prove to become an unstoppable team, producing quality projects such as Original Process, Thought Process, Where The Rhyme Things Are Vol.1 &2, and A Rhyme And A Dream that only got better with time and taking Ohio University and the state by storm. It wasn’t long before the pair were booking shows every week and sounds of “Go Je’an P, go Je’an P, go!” were being heard everywhere. Jéan P has been featured on numerous websites locally and internationally and building a buzz with his music.

With the talent, passion and heart Johnson puts into his rhymes there is no doubt it won’t be long before his story is being told nationwide.
