"Album Reviews - Jeff Crosby "Waking Days" // Folk & Roots music UK - (11/30/16)"

There’s many an artist out there mining America’s rich musical history and shaping it into their own experiences and observations; Crosby may well be one of the best. - Folk and Roots Music UK

"Reviews - Jeff Crosby "Waking Days" // FATEA Records UK (11/1/16)"

This is a fine album from Jeff Crosby and The Refugees. Strong songs, beautifully played and recorded which invoke that restless, archetypal Americana, country-rock sensibility whilst still managing to sound both contemporary and radio friendly. I'm very much hoping Bob Harris gets his hands on this one!

-Paul Jackson - FATEA

""Waking Days" 9/10 (At The Helm Records) // Americana-UK (11/7/16)"

Crosby is a hugely talented, thought-provoking Americana singer-songwriter. 9/10 stars -

"Laurel Canyon Gets Some Twang // No Depression (11/25/15)"

The album’s canyon echoes reverberate in a pleasantly familiar way, but the songs are fresh and personal. - ND - No Depression

"Jeff Crosby and the Refugees’ ‘Waking Days’ // Country Perspective (11/6/15)"

Jeff Crosby and the Refugees certainly impressed me with Waking Days. Combining rock and roll, blues and country, this group creates a compelling sound of music that I think any true music fan could come to appreciate and enjoy. The instrumentation immediately catches your ear and each song has meaning and emotion behind it. It’s impossible not to connect with Waking Days. I definitely recommend checking this album out. This is a true group of artists that deserves to be heard by as many music fans as possible. Waking Days is a truly good album. - CP -

Born and raised in Idaho, Jeff Crosby has been sharing his unique perspective of Americana throughout the US and Europe for the past decade. After moving to Los Angeles, CA in 2013 Crosby landed 2 songs ("This old town" and "Oh love oh lord") on the hit FX series Sons of Anarchy.
He spent 2015-16 splitting his time between playing guitar for Widespread Panic song-writer Jerry Joseph and recording and performing with his own band The Refugees. Even with over 200 shows with Joseph, Crosby still managed to play over 100 shows and release a new album with his band last year (including a sold out 3 night run in Boise, ID and opening a sold out show for Reckless Kelly at the legendary Gruene Hall outside Austin, Texas).
Crosby has now returned to his band full time and moved to Nashville, TN where he is currently finishing a new album produced and engineered by Gregg Williams (Dandy Worhals, Blitzen Trapper, Pete Droge, Jesse Malin) set for release summer '17. His last album "Waking Days" was recently re-released in the UK on At The Helm Records 12/9/16.

"The music and vocals remind me of the the glory days of Laurel Canyon and up to Steve Earle, “Guitar Town”. If you shut your eyes and sing along, you’ll find yourself walking down the banks of the railroad tracks, 3 miles from home , kicking stones thinking about life while you smoke some cigarettes."

”There’s many an artist out there mining America’s rich musical history and shaping it into their own experiences and observations; Crosby may well be one of the best.”

"I think we have unearthed another country diamond here. Crosby will surely appeal to fans of all the great singer-songwriters from Dylan to Van Zandt to Earle."

"Ace guitarpicking technique, a flawlessly soulful voice and young Gregg Allman looks."
