"Jeff Alan Greenway - "I Need""

"It’s a beautiful release of honesty, energy, and thought provoking musicality – the piano performance alone is sublime"

"The track opens with an almost classical, rhythmic piano riff; very simple, but swiftly and skilfully played - it’s a simple and enjoyable song that turns into a quite epic and emotional piece of music as you get further and further involved in it."

"Towards the end the harmonies really step forward and surround you, the crash of the drums and the combined effort of the instruments fuse beautifully with this, it makes for a really climactic finishing third – one that then breaks away for a very soft and honest ending. Lovely to listen to and experience." - Stereo Stickman

"He sang us good songs, he's the piano man - Jeff Alan Greenway"

"Jeff rocked our little studio with some powerful piano chops and heartfelt vocals. Whether it’s a call for closeness (Open These Doors), an on-again, off-again affair (No More Hellos), or a bitter missive to a friendship that always ends up in conflict (Eye for an Eye), Jeff’s songs grab you by the heart and won’t let go." - Phil Emery, Song Talk Radio

"Fantastic show by j.a.g. at Musideum in Toronto"

"Jeff's sold-out concert tonight [at Musideum in Toronto on May 22, 2013] was one heck of an event - an outpouring of soul and songwriting shared with some very lucky people" - Donald Quan, Musideum

"Great Expectations Album Review"

"Jeff’s approach very much reminds me of an early Billy Joel . . . he expresses hope, he expresses sadness and his lyrics are saturated with feeling . . . it's a smooth, tender expression [that] strikes for the heart." - Johnny Sixstring, weloverocknpop.com

Jeff Alan Greenway (j.a.g.) is a singer/songwriter and pianist from Toronto, Canada. His music has received rave reviews and airplay on CBC, Fairchild and college radio. He has just released his first new single for 2016, "I Need".

His music is a blend of pop, rock and jazz featuring some of the best Canadian musical talent in Toronto: Noah Zacharin (guitar) and Mark Zubek (guitar, bass, drums and percussion), Andrew Lauzon (bass), as well as many gifted up-and-coming musicians such as Chino De Villa (K.C. Roberts) and Ben Miller (God Made Me Funky).

Jeff has been playing piano since the age of 3, and writing and singing for almost as long. Well-known on the Toronto music scene as both a singer/songwriter and a keyboard player for the likes of indie darlings Cai.ro and Marcus Walker, he has played many venues such as C'est What, the Supermarket, Musideum and the Distillery District as a solo performer.

His music has sparked comparisons to early Billy Joel and Elton John, Jamie Cullum and Ben Folds. But a deeper listen will unearth elements of XTC, Tori Amos and Sarah MacLachlan, among many others.

"I grew up listening to early Billy Joel, Supertramp, Squeeze, XTC, and a lot of 80s bands", says Jeff. "I think that reflects in my songs - I try to make them complex enough to be interesting, both lyrically and musically, so that people come back again to listen".

Formally educated in jazz piano and arranging at Humber College, Jeff studied with such renowned pianists as Dave Restivo and Canadian jazz great, Bernie Senensky.

His talents have been recognized with a FACTOR Canada New Talent Award, three honorable mentions in international songwriting competitions and a profile on Song Talk Radio ("The Scope" at Ryerson) and Rogers TV.

Jeff is currently doing promotional shows for his new single, "I Need" and album "Great Expectations". He is available for performances, reviews and interviews.
