"Labor of Love review"

Jeff Blaney’s style is characterized by his love for alt-country, old time rock n’ roll, Americana and bluegrass music. He is a consummate songwriter with a knack for good storytelling. On this five song EP, Blaney paints several pictures of his love of life, including the adventures he is looking forward to having.

The guitar playing on Labor of Love is tastefully done. It’s not too flashy, yet the listener can tell that Blaney can really wail on the six-string when he wants to. Instead, Blaney opts for concisely well-crafted songs over indulgent guitar solos. Blaney is also an accomplished mandolin player. This is showcased particularly on the track “Headed to the Country”.

The overall musicianship and production on Labor of Love is great to listen to. Blaney has a solid band and they really showcase their talents here. Blaney’s music is both retrospective and forward-looking. The ballad “The Silent Treatment” talks about lost love while the song “Come With Me” seems to be an optimistic outlook on the future. - Soundstamp

"Jeff Blaney CD: Moonlight Waltz"

"Pure Entertainment!" That is how I would describe Jeff Blaney's CD "Moonlight Waltz." This is the perfect CD to listen to by the pool with your favorite drink on a lazy afternoon. Every song is well crafted and Jeff's voice is as good as any "A list” person on current radio. Since I've had the pleasure of seeing him live, I recommend everyone hear him and ask the story of how this CD came to be as it is truly remarkable. What a talent! This makes CD reviewing easy and a pleasure! - www.thenashvilleuniverse.com

"Jeff Blaney: Moonlight Waltz"

"Blaney is a genuine modern day troubadour and his album brings in seemingly disparate influences such as country, classical, blues, bluegrass, and jazz music and blends them together perfectly. His songs are reminiscent of Robert Hunter/Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, and Larry Sparks, while also remaining uniquely his own. A self proclaimed “Americana” artist, Blaney’s album is a masterpiece of self written and produced musical magic." - LT Vanderpool

Bio

The Americana tradition weaves it’s way through Jeff Blaney’s songs, so it’s no surprise that he calls Music City, USA his home.  Jeff's busy performance schedule makes him hard to categorize.  As a solo acoustic performer he can be sweet and melodic, whereas the Jeff Blaney Band brings audiences to their feet and feels more like a party than a "songwriter" event.  Jeff also keeps in touch with his celtic roots in the northeast by playing traditional Irish music with The Blaney Brothers.

Moonlight Waltz was Jeff’s first release as a solo artist. The record was successfully funded by a crowd sourcing campaign, and was instantly loved by the music community in Nashville and beyond.

After the success of Moonlight Waltz Jeff found himself performing all over TN, as well as the northeast. He has appeared on several concert series and radio shows including Mando Blues on radiofreenashville.org, WDVX Blue Plate Special, Musician’s Corner Nashville, Music City Roots, and The Nashville Fringe Festival.

Jeff’s latest release is a 5 song EP entitled Labor of Love. This recording showcases Jeff’s skills as a vocalist and guitar player as well as the tight sound the Jeff Blaney Band has created while playing the Nashville circuit.  It earned him a spot with indie record label Very Entertaining Records, and the song Going Right Back Home to My Baby was placed in a feature film coming to theaters in the fall of 2014.
