Biography

Recording artist Jeff Coffey has just released his second solo CD entitled “Long Way Home”. This new CD features nine brand new tracks that bridge the gap between Pop, Rock and Country and allows Jeff’s distinctive voice and crafty songwriting to shine through.

Jeff has toured and performing with such artists as Hootie and the Blowfish, Edwin McCain, Sixpence None the Richer & Vertical Horizon just to name a few. Throughout his career as a working musician, his recording credits include working with such great producers as Keith Olsen (Fleetwood Mac, Whitesnake, Foreigner), John Kurzweg (Creed, Puddle of Mudd), Justin Niebank (Keith Urban), and Stan Lynch (Don Henley). In 2003, with producer Joe Smith (NSync, Mandy Moore) at the helm, he produced and released his first solo CD featuring his distinctively powerful voice through soaring melodies and solid songwriting. The rich sounds of Jeff’s music solidly found their place on the Pop and Rock airwaves as many songs received spins on over 60 Top 40/AC stations across the country, as well as XM Radio.

After many packed shows at venues such as Hard Rock Live, House of Blues & SunFest, Jeff has established himself as a prominent force not only in the Florida music scene, but nationally as well. He won accolades from Songwriters Showcase of America. In 2003, his song "Carousel" was voted Song of the Year and in 2004 he was named Male Solo Act of the Year. His songs have been featured on television shows such as MTV's Fraternity Life, Sorority Life, Room Raiders, E! Network's Gastineau Girls and the 2005 CBS Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. "Write About Me", released in March of 2004, is featured in Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's video game Sweet 16 Licensed to Drive and topped the NMW AC40 "Most Added" & "Prime Mover" Charts.

Jeff's National TV appearances include NBC's "StarTomorrow", "The Daily Buzz" on the WB Television Network and performing the National Anthem at several Orlando Magic and Atlanta Braves spring training games. The undeniable heart-and-soul of this up-and-coming artist is evermore present in his music. "Music is the backdrop to our lives and I hope that my music can affect people. I don't want to sound like everybody else, and I certainly don't want every song I play to be more of the same thing. For me, the more curves there are on the road ......…. the more fun it is to drive."

Jeff Coffey … An artist not to be missed!

Lyrics

Long Way Home

Written By: Jeff Coffey

There’s nothing like the freedom of the open road
I don’t need no rhyme or reason just a place to go
Got the top pulled down and the wind blowing on my face
And the only thing familiar is miles away

Something is calling me, I must be on my way … ‘cause

It’s a long way home
Got a thousand miles to go before I’m gone
It’s a long way home
So if it’s up to me I’m taking the long way home

Well I’m moving west now, where the air is dry
Just staring out my window watching the world go by
You can set a course from where you are to anywhere
But it’s not how far you go, it’s the journey there

It’s a long way home
Got a thousand miles to go before I’m gone
It’s a long way home
So if it’s up to me I’m taking the long way home

Through Your Eyes

Written By: Jeff Coffey

It’s cold outside today, a January gray
But time seems to stand still, now that you are here
And it’s hard to understand, how an ordinary man
Will soon become the king, of a young boy’s dream

On a road somewhere that goes nowhere
Well I’ve been there before
Got a second chance, one more glance
At a life I knew before

Through your eyes
Hope will shine, life is free and love is blind
It’s a one way ride, if only I … could see it
Through your eyes

May you keep a humble tongue, for every battle won
And when love asks you to dance, take a chance
For if you ever find yourself on unholy ground, I’ll help you turn around
May the warm wind fill your sail, but always be aware

Of a road somewhere that goes nowhere
‘Cause I’ve been there before
It’ll be alright, I’ll be by your side
‘Cause that’s what I’m here for

Through your eyes
Hope will shine, life is free and love is blind
It’s a one way ride, but I know that I … will see it all again
Through your eyes

Ordinary

Written By: Jeff Coffey

I never claimed to be so hip
‘cause I always looked like a fool, was never that popular in school
Lived every day-in-the-life of a stupid kid
But that was long before I met you
It’s funny what love can do ‘cause now I’m

Changing … everything about me
Changing … all the idiosyncrasies
That make me feel so ordinary
Now I … I throw it all away for you
Go back inside … and turn it into something new
‘cause I don’t wanna be ordinary

You seem to find the worst in me
‘cause you never like to hear me talk and you don’t like the way I walk
So I’m still playing along with your fantasy
Check out my glamorous new profile
I’m coming out in style ‘cause now I’m

But sometimes I really miss myself
I don’t wanna be somebody else

So from now on there’ll be no more

Changing … everything about me
Changing … all the idiosyncrasies
That make me feel so ordinary
I’ll never … throw it all away for you
Give in to you … and turn it into something new
‘cause I just wanna be ordinary
