The Jefferson Jay Band is a talented three-piece ensemble that blends a hip fusion of classic rock, blues, jazz and reggae in a powerful, fresh, 21st century sound. Backed by provocative vocals, crisp guitar, popping basslines and a driving pulse, Jefferson Jay is winning over the ears of San Diego's finest music connoisseurs. A California CD Release tour is scheduled for April 2008 to promote their record, "Red," the first album of a trilogy.
Jefferson Jay is the flamboyant vocalist and guitarist for the Jefferson Jay Band. His classic voice and provocative personality set the tone for a wild rock n' roll adventure. Damon Stoll plays the 6-string bass for the Jefferson Jay Band. His jaw-dropping popping and slapping techniques have earned him the nickname "The Funky D." Johnny Avelar is the youngest member of the band. He has played the drums for several touring groups. Horns and percussion are sometimes used for larger shows.
The band's home base is in San Diego, where Jefferson currently hosts one of the hottest open mics in town.
