Biography

Groove Master Drummer Jeffrey B. Suttles has literally played his way around the world. Jeff’s explosive, percolating style has been the soulful energizer for some of the hottest acts on the R&B and Pop circuit during the 80’s and 90’s as the backbone for such artists as Donny Osmond, Howard Hewett, En Vogue, Teena Marie, Chante Moore, Shanice Wilson, Cheryl Lynn, Sheena Easton and Taylor Dayne.

Having finally taken the Time To Suttledown, to compose and produce his first
solo release featuring nine original instrumental compositions and the Taylor Dayne hit, I’ll Always Love You, Jeff stretches out to yet another dimension of his musical ability.

Time To Suttledown is a combination of Jeff’s signature funky, pocket grooves, smooth and sensitive rhythms and jammin’ melodic arrangements all showcasing
this multi-talented musician, producer and composer!

Jeff has assembled a stellar line-up of players for the recording of his solo release which features: Ronnie Garrett, Alex Al, Larry Kimpel and Warren McRae laying down the phat bass groves; the ever soulful Wali Ali working his magic on all of the guitar solos supported by guitarists Torrie “Freak Juice” Ruffin and Chris Clarmont;
the keyboard artistry of Patrice Rushen, Bill Steinway and Eddie “Killer” Miller, who also co-arranged with Jeff; the sizzling sax work of Alexander aka “Alias”, Andre Delano (courtesy of 7th Note Entertainment) and Donald Hayes, who contributes the very sensual lead on I’ll Always Love You, along with the keyboard wizard Bobby Douglas; Steve Backer, section leader and horn arranger on trombone; Raymond Monteiro on trumpet and the great Rafael Padilla on percussion; and, the legendary Ndugu Chancler lending the lyrical vibes on Time to Suttledown.
