Jehovah Jamz Records Biography

Some musicians begin their bands and their record labels in a home garage, or basement studio, but Joseph "JSIII" Smith III, driven by his passion for making music, began while a Sophomore at Purdue University.  A native of Miami, Florida, who has lived in Georgia since 1994, has a long history of involvement with the music business. A disc jockey on the college campus and in night clubs around Lafayette, Indiana and Atlanta, GA, he continued in the business as an “on air personality” at Radio Station WRFG-89.3, in Atlanta, Georgia.  JSIII founded Mindstate Entertainment Records in 1995 and launched the careers of several independent secular artists but secular music was not his calling as being an instrument for the word of God has taken over. Music is in his head, hands, feet, heart and mind. In music, he finds his joy and peacefulness, for this artist/producer/songwriter, a new independent record label “Prophetic Entertainment Records” was created with Michael “Gifted” Upshaw in 2003.  The duo released two Christian rap projects entitled “Keep it Moving in Faith” and “Faith is the Key” as the Christian Rap duo Q.W.E.S.T. (Quintessential Wisdom Edifying & Seeking Trinity).  They traveled and ministered for almost ten years leading many souls to the Lord.

JSIII proudly professes the Most-High, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as his sole inspiration for living. His God giving talent to write/produce/perform music, to minister the word, and spirit filled messages has shined brightly.  In 2016 God gave him the vision to create his latest venture with his wife Patricia Taylor-Smith.  Jehovah Jamz Records and Smith Tay Entertainment LLC will be a shining light to discover new talent for the kingdom of God highlighting different genres of Christian music.  This newly formed label will be an outlet for Christian messages with a strong emphasis on the business side of the industry, whereas most artists concentrate on performing. "To maintain longevity in the business, artists must have knowledge of all aspects of the business, which will allow artists more creative control and an outlet to pursue other facets of the industry”. - JSIII

Recently re-married to his beautiful wife Patricia-Taylor Smith, whom he dated in college, rekindled their love 25 years later.  They have four children Letisha, Tia, Jared and Ronny.  They proudly attend New Creation Christian Fellowship Church in Stone Mountain, GA, whose founder and pastor is Apostle Floyd Dautrieve.  There he met the minister of music, John Bennett, who is an anointed singer/songwriter/producer.  John will release his first solo album coming soon on Jehovah Jamz Records.  God began His work in them as they bonded and pursued music for the glory of God as a result “Revelation, Rhythm, and Rhyme – The Compilation was birthed which includes the songs “Never Change” by John Bennett, “He’s So Good” by February Hill, “I Won’t Go Back” by JSIII and “No Question” by Kimberly McRae to name a few.  Also, Jehovah Jamz has signed a new artist to its roster, Christian rapper Promiss.  Her new single “Super Lit” will allow JJR and Promiss a path to reach the masses for God’s Kingdom.  Her new project “7thXAround” will be released soon as well.

Jehovah Jamz Records is honored to allow God to lead the way. Their mission: to win souls for Gods’ kingdom through their relationship with God, their lifestyle, and music ministry. Music helps us create many emotions, to enjoy life, and to relax. “At Jehovah Jamz Records, we have the unique opportunity to impact our world with many positive contributions. We stand poised to praise God and entertain worldwide audiences taking all forms of Christian music to a higher level and keeping it there as a focal point not a side bar.” - JSIII

“So will we sing and praise thy power.” Psalm 21:13
