"Corporate Entertainment is a natural fit for Jenn and she has experience in the field, North of the border. A fresh face in the States, she is just beginning to show her potential, and corporate meeting planners and producers here have a reason to get excited. She understands the fine art of entertaining in this market and can work with event planners and producers to bring them the perfect entertainment experience." - Cameo Publishing Group USA

"Reach Out For New Jenn Beaupré Release"

In some 10+ years of performing in front of local and national audiences, Jenn Beaupré has been given some pretty solid affirmation that she’s chosen the right career path.

She’s competed on Canadian Idol, and performed at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. She has opened for the Moscow Ballet, as well as picking up notice locally in 2003 when she won the Most Promising Young Artist Award during the Calgary Stampede’s annual talent search. In 2001, she had snapped up a Don Welden Memorial award at the same competition.

While she does have a variety of cover songs on her YouTube channel to showcase her vocal and keyboard talents, her original music has been primarily soulful, heartfelt personal songs – very much piano driven along the lines of contemporaries like Sarah McLachlan and Norah Jones.

The latter is actually a timely and appropriate comparison, as she recently worked with members of Jones’ band while recording her latest CD, Reach Out, in NYC. She even got to meet Jones while she was there in the studio.

Collaborating on some songwriting with Calgary’s Steve Dodd (composer for music on Jersey Shore, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Married To Jonas, The Theo Fleury Story, Punk’d), Reach Out reflects a subtle change in direction, but also remains in line with the arc of her previous two releases. There is a deeper influence on the soul side, and a touch of Motown that makes this disc a door opener for new listeners, along the lines of Adele and Emili Sande.

At the request of her producer, her re-recording and inclusion of Watermelon Seeds from her 2010 release This Time is the soulful link to the sound that makes this a progression, as opposed to a change of direction.

Considering that choice of producer on this album (Matt Pierson – Jane Monheit, Sophie Milman, Bob James Trio), you’d almost expect a more jazzy outcome, but the songs and sounds really do make you think more of subtle, modern Motown influences.

But hey, you can decide for yourself, you don’t have to trust my personal take on the recording. This entire backgrounder or preamble has been leading up to the real purpose of my chatting with her recently.

Beaupré has a CD launch party planned for Saturday, January 17th at the Ironwood Stage & Grill, and she shared that she may have gone just a little bit overboard in trying to recreate the album live onstage there. She confesses that there may be about an 11-piece band backing her up, give or take a few musicians. Along with her piano and distinctive voice…

You can catch the entire conversation I had with Jenn Beaupré from my own YouTube channel.

Bio

Jenn Beaupré’s award-winning vocal style is bold, spirited and eclectic - think Bette Midler meets Adele with a splash of Alanis Morissette.

Her unique talent, charisma and energy have garnered her strong accolades worldwide.

“I love Jenn Beaupré - What a firecracker! - Sass Jordan, Canadian Idol

In 2003, Beaupré won the Youth Talent Search at the Calgary Stampede. Other notables to date include being a contestant on Season 3 of Canadian Idol, opening for the Moscow Ballet on their Canadian Tour, performing at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and most recently drawing attention from talent producers at Cirque du Soleil.

Though she counts the late soul-folk artist Eva Cassidy as one of her main influences, modern artists like Lady Gaga, Emili Sande, and Lauren Hill also inspire her songwriting.

Beaupré's performances forge a strong connection with audiences, dazzling them with her powerful voice, personality and charm.

Her latest album entitled ‘Reach Out’ was released in 2015. This soul-infused, pop record was recorded live in New York City under the talented eye of producer Matt Pierson.

“My job is not to be ‘a singer’ – I want to make you feel things. I’m an evoker – an elicitor of emotion.” - Jenn Beaupré.
