Jennifer Edison To Pre-Release Her New Album On CDBaby.com

Quickly gaining recognition in the music industry and among music consumers, Jennifer Edison’s new album “A Thousand Wings” is being pre-released on CDBaby.com for purchase all over the world. Blending together elements of R&B, Pop and Hip Hop “A Thousand Wings” has a crossover appeal that should prove a big success on the #1 Online CD retailer for independent music.

(PRWEB) November 15, 2005 -- The time has come as the Detroit-based singer-songwriter and producer, Jennifer Edison, has now pre-released her new album “A Thousand Wings” on CDBaby.com, the largest online retailer for independent music. The album was produced by herself and her older brother Charles Edison and also features songs by Houston-based producer Derrick “Platinum Child” Hines.

“This album is the real deal,” Jennifer says. “And I am not very quick to say that about anything especially something that I did, but I am just overwhelmed with this project and eager to share it with the world.”

“A Thousand Wings” is a journey from Jennifer Edison, one that takes its listeners through the good, the bad and the ugly of life and relationships using a dynamic range of melodies both musically and vocally. She explores the depths of R&B music with elements of Pop, and Hip-Hop and meticulously combines them together to form her classic R&B sound. The first single to be released, I’m Out, combines a Hip Hop beat with R&B/Pop vocals and is playing on radio stations in the Southeast and spreading throughout the country and abroad. The record has been distributed to DJ record pools across the country and based on an early response from DJs, it will surely make an impact on the street level. The sweet harmonies of the tear-jerking Acapella track, No Matter What, caps off the album and pays special tribute to the soldiers and all of the heroes of the world inspiring those who go through trying times to keep fighting and never give up no matter what.

“Inspiration is so important to me and being able to inspire others through music is the greatest gift that I can give,” Jennifer affirms. “That’s what I try to do with my music. I want to give back inspiration to the world the way the people of the world have inspired me, from musicians to doctors, fireman, soldiers, teachers and everyone out there striving to make a difference in this world. I want to inspire people with my music and make a difference in the lives of those that hear it.”

“A Thousand Wings” is Jennifer’s second CD, following up on her debut Internet only release “JLE That’s Me”, which garnered a nomination for Best R&B Album of The Year by the Los Angeles Music Awards and recruited fans from the United States to Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Europe and the United Kingdom. The strong reviews and encouragement from the first CD provided the impetus for the even more ambitious follow-up.
“I’m definitely ready to take it to that next level. I love what I do and my greatest joy would be to share it with the world.”

Bio

If you think you’re ready for a new R&B crossover Pop legend, whose music embodies the ingredients and elements to inspire the hearts of many, ensuring the fate of a great song, compelled by its listeners, to be named “Classic”? Then you may be ready for Jennifer Edison. A native of “Motown” Detroit, MI who’s great aunt Florence Ballard sang with The Supremes, Edison takes no prisoners when it comes to her singing and songwriting talent. “I want all of my songs to have a point. Even if the point is to just have fun, I like to write songs that have a purpose and an overall message. I like to break down a situation and talk about things that we all probably know but never really say out loud, or maybe in a way we never thought about”, she declares. Edison’s songs are expressed with the delicacy of her buttery smooth voice and the thunder of her emotions as she unites the dynamics of the lyrics and music and explores the highs and lows of her vocal range.

No stranger to hard work and dedication, Edison has sang, written, co-produced and self-promoted two solo albums recruiting fans all over the world from the United States to Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Europe, United Kingdom and more. Her first album entitled JLE “That’s Me”, released on the internet in 2003, garnered her a nomination for Best R&B Album of The Year by the Los Angeles Music Awards and helped build her an international buzz. Late 2005 Jennifer began promoting her second album entitled “A Thousand Wings” whose poetic array of melodies sets her aside from what most would term “independent” and shows those who listen that she can indeed compete with the top artists of today.

Her first single entitled “I’m out” captured the attention of radio program directors as well as club DJs all over the world. "She's a hot new artist with the complete package. She's got the look, the vocal ability and a solid record. She's a star in the making" says Kelvin Quarles, PD of KMOJ-FM in Minneapolis, MN. A compliment on Edison’s music was not hard to find as Ralph Meachum, PD of WFXM-FM (Foxie 107) in Macon, GA says "I think she's a phenomenal talent with an extremely bright future. Don't sleep on this one!" Ms. Edison’s shameless self promotion managed to obtained radio airplay on over 30 commercial stations in the US and has her single highly sought after among DJ Record Pools in the US and Germany. She climbed into the top 100 on several record pool charts in the US and in less than a day shot to #3 on the DJ League of Europe’s promotion charts in September, 2006 where she remains in the top 10 amongst major label artists. Jennifer also demanded the attention of the press having her songs, press releases, or interviews published by over 30 internet publications including Sohh.com, TLA-PRonline, Singersroom.com, Manhunt.com and many more. Her internet buzz spread from the #1 Unsigned artist on Soundclick.com to winning over 12 awards on Garageband.com including Best Female Vocals and Best Lyrics. With a B.A. in Marketing from Michigan State University, intimidation is not a factor in Jennifer’s willingness to get involved in the not-so-artsy business aspects of her career.

To say, however, that she is alone in her endeavors would be greatly misleading as she is joined with her Father, and her older brother Charles Edison who is the brains behind the music on most of the songs she has recorded. They have a chemistry that can only be explained with one word – Genetics. “My brother and I just work so well together. Sometimes I’ll write a song with a melody, but no music, just the words”, she says. “Then he’ll show me a track that he already made that totally fits what I wrote. It’s amazing”. Her music takes the face of real life situations with a diverse style that reflects Edison’s musical tastes and influences, which includes artists such as Whitney Houston, Brandy, and Lauren Hill, to name a few. Edison’s future is sure to capture a larger than life portion of R&B and Pop fans around the world.
