When it comes to capturing audiences with her music, she is no amateur. Her sweet yet sultry vocal tones so skillfully placed will lure you in while her mysterious and smoldering melodies take you prisoner. Jennifer Fertado is a singer and songwriter born and raised in the unique and artistic heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. With a talent for breaking barriers, her innovative style can not only stand tall next to any contemporary music out today but has an old soul and also reflects such influences as Ella Fitzgerald and Julie London.
Jennifer started like any other, a child amerced in a world of imagination but as many of those around her grew to be left minded, Jennifer held tight to her love of art and creativity. Always the odd one out and constantly searching for any way to express herself, she discovered music. She listened to and learned about many genres thanks to her mother’s wide range of taste and many days spent listening to her grandparent’s old jazz records. Eventually Jennifer began singing, not because she liked the sound of her own voice, but simply because nothing compared to the feeling she got when wrapping that voice around a melody. It was only when people started to take notice that she recognized her ability and began to pursue it more seriously. With a new goal in mind and driven enough to break free of her stage fright, Jennifer began competing locally and eventually worldwide winning many gold medals and numerous grand prizes. Still, with an overflowing trophy shelf and boxes full of karaoke music, something was missing. It was then that she discovered the ultimate self expression and began to develop her skills as a songwriter. While doing so, she continued to perform whenever possible, even landing a gig at a local Italian restaurant singing old jazz standards. She pulled from everything, good and bad, and poured it all out into her lyrics and performances. Perhaps the most difficult thing she had to pull from was her mother’s passing which occurred just a week after her 19th birthday. Jennifer sang to her on many occasions during her last days grasping at any opportunity to connect with her, but felt helpless as she watched her biggest inspiration slip away. It was a crushing time and while it had the potential to knock her off her tracks, she eventually found enough strength to move forward with her aspirations not only for her own sake but as a tribute to her mother. A motivation more than anything she had felt before. To this day Jennifer continues to be driven and is constantly growing artistically. With an eye on what’s hot, a dynamic musical background, and the natural ability to pull people in with her alluring melodies and deeply clever lyrics, she has not only come into her own as a recording artist but also writes with versatility. Whether it’s her own smoky trademark style, a whimsical indie tune, an r&b ballad, a folk inspired piece, or a catchy pop hook, she continues to captivate listeners with her fresh ideas and undeniably possesses the ability and desire to continue creating hits for herself as well as other artists.

This album is a collage of fierce melodic pieces by Jennifer, equally fiery piano performances by Michael Musumeci, and the soul shaking rhythms of John Kontogianis and Leo Tallman. Actor EP is beginning to acquire national recognition here in the United States as well as in the UK and is also receiving online radio play and rave reviews on Jango and IAC Music.
