"New Album from Jennifer Parsignault"

"Sticking with the Pure Adult Contemporary style, Jennifer delivers a 9 song CD that gathers around her stunningly beautiful vocals of amazing range (a cross between Kate Bush and Tori Amos) and her masterful piano and keyboard arrangements (drawing to mind Elton John and Keith Emerson), and is accented by her virtuoso violin talent. She accompanies herself on all the backing and harmony vocals, set within marvelously meticulous arrangements and full studio productions that show a true artistic touch to the craft of mastering. Balanced between full backing band accompaniment of songs (that would be right at home in the concert hall or on the dance floor) and sparse piano ballad, nightclub, torch songs, From The Dark pulls its range from the cannons of such illuminaries as Streisand, Minelli, and Midler, while becoming everything Linda Ronstadt always wanted to be."

"From The Dark"

“This is beautiful. It’s like Barbra Streisand and Enya recorded an album together, and Stevie Nicks stopped by to lend her aura. Jennifer Parsignault’s songwriting has a touch of gospel, and her voice has a touch of dreamland. This is sensually spiritual music. A soft orchestra of piano, cello, and violins create perfectly lush musical surroundings for that voice. Parsignault’s vocal is sweet, yet mature. There’s no floating away on a pink cloud here – her voice conveys wisdom and insight, characteristics granted to those who have already been down some treacherous roads. What impresses me most about Parsignault’s voice is what she doesn’t do with it. With such operatic vocal power, she could have easily pulled a Celine Dion and gone haywire on the emotional theatrics. Instead, she forgoes that kind of nonsense and sings with quiet authority. The emotions are much more clear when they’re so simply conveyed. The best example of this is the gospel-fueled title track. No overwrought preaching. Just a deep, strong, husky voice singing, “I believe in love.” This CD is elegant and warm. This music stirs the soul and rekindles embers in the heart. I don’t think Parsignault will be an indie artist much longer.” - Indie Music/.com

"New Album from Ms Parsignault"

“One voice I truly cannot get enough of, Jennifer Parsignault returns with an acoustic EP with 5 songs from the yet to be released "From The Dark". Her voice feels stronger and more passionate this time around as she belts out the beautiful lyrics to some great and wonderful songs. Reaching more deeply to her soul to grasp and share the heart felt lyrics to the listener. This time around, not only can you hear the beautiful voice, you can feel it. Accompanied by all acoustic instruments, keyboard, violin, piano, mandolin, bass and cello. The EP recorded at Big City recording studio is a deeper look at the passion and promise of Jennifer Parsignault, and the energy feeling and emotion she not only puts in to the performance, but the writing as well. Five more songs that are proving to me that Jennifer is completely a driving force in the indie music scene. A wonderful collection that is just a sample, yet makes one look forward to the full length CD coming soon. I was simply blown away, "From The Dark" (the song) sent cold chills through me. Almost perfect!” “ - Rikks Reviews.com

"From The Dark - EP"

“Jennifer Parsignault previews her forthcoming album with an acoustic EP. The opener "Heart of Mine" shows her crystalline voice at its best. She plays the violin beautifully here. "Last Dance" is an elegant song in a contemporary folk style. The lyrics of a sad goodbye are very moving. The title track provides a message of hope in a hopeless time. Parsignault sings of being saved in a way that makes it impossible not to believe her. "Found" is a lovely piano ballad. This EP makes me want to hear the album right now, but it also stands on its own. “ - Collected Sounds

The second album, RED, was released in 1997. Album Network praised the artist and the music, commenting on Jennifer’s “…tremendous growth …as a singer and songwriter…” Favorable radio airplay, along with interest for film and television projects, helped built a strong momentum

Oh, My, Jennifer’s third album, was released in 2000. It revealed something new and wonderful to the world–it displayed an experienced heart and maturing soul. With its colorful lyrics and evocative emotional textures—from the sweet and tender ballads, (Song for St. Symin, Beautiful One), to the strong, hypnotic up-tempo cuts (Some Religion, Matter of Time and the title track, Oh, My) —the album gave full play to the extraordinary range that Jennifer’s voice is capable of conveying. It’s a dazzling array, in one moment vulnerable and intimate, in the next pure strength and power.

From The Dark, Jennifer’s latest offering, takes the listener to new levels. Nine new songs make up this fresh collection, which once again features Jennifer on violin, piano, and keyboards. With her trademark intricate arrangements, From The Dark moves ever deeper, approaching something contemplative and darkly glittering, as it wraps rich, memorable melodies around thoughtful lyrics. Standout tracks include Orbit Again, an upbeat ode to new love, Fragile, with its pulsing rhythm and lush strings, and the Peter Gabriel inspired Back Home.

Musical influences include Kate Bush, Sarah MacLachlan, Peter Gabriel and Christine McVie.
