The Jenny Pilots are made up of the songwriting team of Mark Nuzzi and Joe Furnari, founding members of the successful NJ Power Pop bar band Soul Engines, along with Johnny Macko (Maybe Pete) on drums and Gary Grzybek (Steel Grass) on bass. Many Soul Engines fans will hear the familiar sounds of Mark’s vocals and melodic hooks and Joe's guitar lines in the new songs by The Jenny Pilots.
Their sound can be defined as joyful musical exploration of passionate, cinematic songwriting. Shades of Americana with power pop hooks and classic rock vocals fill their songs… with that familiar sound like a distant memory… or that feeling of trying to remember a dream while blinking into the dawn. “We strive to write songs with strong hooks that hold up after repeat listens, and for the lyrics to reveal layers over time.” They are also songwriters for hire and are actively pursuing songwriting opportunities in film and TV.
Our songs echo the sounds of Tom Petty, Dawes, Counting Crows, The Beatles, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen. They come to life in concert through Mark's passion for singing and entertaining... and our audience is accustomed to yelling out words of inspiration for us to craft a song on the spot - usually including a line from the Honeymooners or the Godfather. Ay, what do you expect from some guys from Jersey. Leave the gun - take the cannoli.
