Jenny & the Dead Sea

Jenny Kvistad could play the piano before she could ride a bike. She wrote her first song at 8 and moved to Hollywood shortly after high school to pursue her music career. Once she completed the Recording Artist Program at the Musician's Institute, Jenny took her 3-song self-recorded demo and bulky Yamaha keyboard to Austin, Texas, with dreams of cheaper rent and live performance. Here she joined forces with guitarists Tristan Shinnick and Paul Minjares, drummer Daniel Curry and bassist Taylor Payne to form the distinct sound of Jenny & the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea members' impressive performance history includes opening for Fastball and playing with local artist Ben Mallott, each musician with extensive musical training since childhood. The creativity and stylistic improvisation of each artist contributes to the unique sound of Jenny & the Dead Sea, which most find hard to categorize into any one specific genre.
