Hailing from the small Southeast Texas town of Lumberton, TX, Jen Standley-Smith felt since an early age that music is her ultimate calling in life. From humble beginnings writing short playful songs at the age of nine, she has gone on to earn a degree in Music Composition at Lamar University. Jen applied this classical background with modern acoustic guitar to play numerous open mics at the Log On Café, venues at local churches, and eventually the auditorium at the University. She has even written a jingle for the Better Business Bureau of Central Texas recently. Always holding true to her own brand of an acoustic marriage between alternative and folk, Jen Standley-Smith lives a life completely intertwined in the love of music. She continues to play venues in and around Austin, TX today, relentlessly pursuing her lifelong dream.
