"General Statement"

Good Music!!! Very Talented Girl! - Mark White (Spin Doctors)

"Online Review"

Jen is the best I've heard on Mp3.com by a mile! Whoever it was who said she sounds like Billy Joe of Green Day got it on the spot..with a touch of Alanis thrown in for good measure. She has some really excellent songs. She has the talent to go ALL THE WAY! - Mr. A Range

"The Reminder"

The song "Mary Jane" is not only good, it is really popular - with 13,000 downloads in three months last year, Tobey took home the most downloaded song honors in the Northeast. Another crowd favorite is the sing-along, "I Never Wanna Be Like You." The recorded version has Tobey singing through a megaphone Very impressive stuff! - Josh Shear

Bio

From drumming to songwriting - Jen Tobey does it all. This incredible singer/songwriter/musician was born in a small town in Western Massachusetts. Her obsession for music started at a very young age when her father bought her a guitar at the prime age of 4 and a set of drums at the age of 9.

Jen quickly made drumming her life and went on to win the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award in high school. During those years, she also made her way into an Alternative Rock band and started writing songs for the group. This experience made her get out from behind the drums and step into the limelight. She made her long awaited solo debut in the Spring of 1996.

In 1997 Jen wrote, recorded and produced her first demo CD, entitled "A Part Of Me". The album went on to sell copies all over the world, including: England, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Germany, and of course the US. Her song, “Mary Jane” hit number one on Mp3.com in 2000.

In 2004 she was voted “Best Songwriter” in the Valley Advocate Readers Poll. In addition to her superb songwriting skills, she possesses what Kristina Tunzi of Billboard Magazine has called a "great voice - clean and crisp."

Jen is a unique talent with her own singular sound. She has opened for artists such as: Collective Soul, Cracker, Stephen Kellogg, Noel Paul Stookey, The Massacoustics, Pride Falls, and The Stone Coyotes.

Most recently, she won the WRSI songwriting contest. “Miss Know It All” has been getting much exposure. The song will also be featured in the July edition of the magazine, “Hot English.” Jen has also just received 2 award nominations by The Valley Advocate Readers Poll: “Best Pop Band,” and “Best Female Vocalist.”
