Bio
Jeremy Atkins is a talented pianist and songwriter whose creative melodies combined with inspirational and meaningful lyrics create an atmosphere of worship and adoration to Jesus Christ. Jeremy writes his music similar to the styles of Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Billy Joel, and the Eagles. His voice has been compared to John Mayer and Chris Rice as well as the lead singer from Mercy Me.
Jeremy's musical talent has not been hidden from the spotlight over his career. In 1997, his senior year of high school, Jeremy won the prestigious John Phillip Sousa Band award for outstanding musicianship and performance. That same year he also was selected as "Most Talented" and served as the Armuchee High School Indian Band's assistant drum major. Jeremy has also competed in several piano competitions at Berry College where he placed at the top--receiving back-to-back Superior ratings for piano performance and pedagogy.
From 1997-2004, Jeremy served as the pianist for West Rome Christian Church where many of his original songs debuted with the praise band and as solo performances. He also served as worship leader on Wednesday nights and performed several concerts at local Rome, Georgia churches.
After Jeremy moved to Ohio in late fall of 2004, he began to concentrate on more songwriting and is now working on a brand new Contemporary Christian album "Not Alone" which he plans to release in 2007. Jeremy is also a performer of other Christian artists' music and has also written several adult contemporary pop songs which have done well on internet charts.
