Bio

A singer/songwriter, Jeremy Crooks was exposed to all genre of music - from the classic standards popularized by Frank Sinatra to the Motown sounds of the 60's to today’s artists. Jeremy's music is highly influenced by artists like Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, and Usher where he tends to blend a little Pop, R&B, with a touch of Funk. In some arrangements, using his vocals as instruments, either beatboxing or mimicking instruments, he drives the beat of a song instead of relying on actual instruments or technology.

Born in Sacramento, CA on July 18, 1991, Jeremy started singing and dancing at an early age of 3. Watching video performances of Michael Jackson’s, “Billie Jean” and performing it at family functions, Jeremy caught the “bug” and knew he wanted to be an entertainer when he grew up.

In 2009, Jeremy started attending the University of California - Irvine where he shared his music talent by posting YouTube videos of him singing in his dorm room and dancing in the school's gym and parking garage. He started attracting a fanbase outside of UCI where he then started performing at Southern California area colleges, universities, and clubs. He also has performed at both Six Flags amusement parks in California. Being multi-talented, Jeremy did not go unnoticed.

In 2010, Jeremy’s YouTube dance video to Usher’s OMG song went viral and he received national attention when he appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” not once but twice that season. With the attention given to his dancing, he states, "I feel like dance provides the visual aspect to a song. It’s another avenue of expressing emotion and translates the beat and hits of a song into movements. A performance is enhanced immensely when dancing is incorporated into it."

In the same year, he also released his debut single, “Faith” which he wrote. This song and the others that followed created a buzz in the music industry where Ben Gordon of Interscope's A&R was impressed with his songwriting and singing. This encouraged him to pursue his dream of being an entertainer full-time by taking time off from college to focus on his music.

Jeremy continues to write, record, and perform his songs. In 2011, he worked with music producers associated with talents like Justin Bieber, Sean Kingston, 50 Cent, and Madonna on new material he has written to be released on his first EP in 2012. As he states, “I just want to make an impact on the world and leave a lasting legacy. My goal is to connect with people through my story and capture emotions that people may not have touched upon before. I want to be an inspiration to other generations like Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and others that have been an inspiration for me.”
