Jeremy Edwards & The Dust Radio Band

Jeremy Edwards & The Dust Radio Band

BandCountryRock

Jeremy descibes the music as "the love child of Keith Richards and Cheryl Crow" - but it's much more than that. It's great songs and fantastic playing, moving seamlessly from footstomping rock and country ballads through to heartfelt acoustic pieces superbly written. Live, this band delivers!

Biography

Jeremy Edwards has been at the forefront of the live, roots music scene in Sydney and Wollongong for over a decade.

From internationally acclaimed blues outfit 'Whose Muddy Shoes' and roots rockers 'Hydro' through to accomplished solo performer and
sideman, Jeremy has done it all - his experience shows.

With songs that would sit comfortably in the US alternate country charts Jeremy has assembled a band that features some of the best musicians in the country. They include Julianne Henry on vocal and percussion, Roy Payne on guitar and lap steel, George Brugmans, drums, and Ben Edwards on bass and double bass. Jeremy's own very solid technique with either electric or acoutic guitar is the constant that drives this band.

Between them they have played with many high profile acts such as The Detonators (VIC), Red Rivers, Corrina Steel, The Whiteliners, Satellite V and Pete Cornelius & The Devilles (TAS).

With the new album having just been released the band were invited to play The Tamworth Country Music Festival 2006 where they were received extremely well by the musically savvy crowd.

This band will leave an audience feeling good about live music due to the quality of the show and the songs they present. Some will dance, (Live Like This) some will just listen, (Wires) while others will sing along, (Tin Pan Texas). The music covers a lot of ground and has widespread appeal.

A professional outfit capable of playing anywhere from a one room shack to a large concert hall anywhere in the world, all with a style and confidence gained from doing the hard yards.

Currently the band is working inner Sydney venues such as The Botany View Hotel, Newtown, The Bald Rock Hotel, Balmain, and The Royal in
Leichardt and are looking to expand their horizons locally, interstate and overseas.

Lyrics

Tin pan Texas

Written By: Jeremy Edwards

SHE WAS FREE AND RECKLESS LITTLE TIN PAN TEXAS
DRANK UP THE DAYS LIKE CHEAP WINE
WITH THE ARMS OF AN ANGEL AND THE FACE OF A SAINT
THE MOUTH OF A BANDIT EVERYTIME

MAN, WE WERE CLAD LIKE KINGS BUT WE DIDN’T OWN A THING
NOTHING SEEMED TO MATTER THOSE DAYS
AND ALL THOSE NIGHTS THAT WE CRIED STARING UP AT THE SKY
AND HEAVEN AND EARTH SLIPPED AWAY

AND WE SHONE LIKE THE SUN
‘TILL ALL THAT MONEY WAS GONE
LONG MAY YOU RUN
AND SHINE LIKE THE SUN

I REMEMBER THOSE NIGHTS, ALL THE LONG DRUNKEN FIGHTS
SWORE I’D FORGET YOU SOMEDAY
HOW YOU COULD PEEL OFF MY SKIN ‘CAUSE THE LAYERS WERE THIN
I COULDN’T CUT YOU LOOSE EITHER WAY

AND WE SHONE LIKE THE SUN
‘TILL ALL THAT MONEY WAS GONE
LONG MAY YOU RUN
AND SHINE LIKE THE SUN

SHE WAS FREE AND RECKLESS LITTLE TIN PAN TEXAS
DRANK UP THE DAYS LIKE CHEAP WINE
WITH THE ARMS OF AN ANGEL AND THE FACE OF A SAINT
THE MOUTH OF A BANDIT EVERYTIME

AND WE SHONE LIKE THE SUN
‘TILL ALL THAT MONEY WAS GONE
LONG MAY YOU RUN
AND SHINE LIKE THE SUN

Live Like This

Written By: Jeremy Edwards

WELL I DON’T THINK I CAN LIVE LIKE THIS
WHEN THE WORDS YOU THROW HIT LIKE A FIST
AT THE FIRST RAYS OF THE SLEEPING SUN
WELL IT’S GOODBYE FROM THIS LOVERS TONGUE

AND I THROW MYSELF RIGHT ON THAT BUS AND RIDE IT OUT OF TOWN
DOWN THE WILD WEST COAST WHERE NO ONE KNOWS MY NAME
HONEY ME AND YOU WE BLEW RIGHT THROUGH‘TILL EVERYTHING WAS GONE
LET THE WIND BLOW AWAY WHAT WE’VE DONE

BURNED HANDS’LL TEACH YOU BEST
ONLY BURNED HANDS WILL TEACH YOU BEST

AND I’M SO WOUND UP I JUST CAN’T SIT STILL
AND SWALLOW ALL THAT’S MADE ME ILL
I’M CRUSHED I’M CRUMPLED ON YOUR FLOOR
LIKE THE CLOTHES THAT YOU DON’T FIT NO MORE

AND I THROW MYSELF RIGHT ON THAT BUS AND RIDE IT OUT OF TOWN
DOWN THE WILD WEST COAST WHERE NO ONE KNOWS MY NAME
HONEY ME AND YOU WE BLEW RIGHT THROUGH‘TILL EVERYTHING WAS GONE
LET THE WIND BLOW AWAY WHAT WE’VE DONE

BURNED HANDS’LL TEACH YOU BEST
ONLY BURNED HANDS WILL TEACH YOU BEST

LIKE A CAR WRECK, LIKE A BITTER PILL
LIKE A HURRICANE AS YOU STAND STILL
LIKE THE BLACK-TOP TO THE BIG SKY
HONEY DON’T YOU WANNA KNOW WHY?

I THROW MYSELF RIGHT ON THAT BUS AND RIDE IT OUT OF TOWN
DOWN THE WILD WEST COAST WHERE NO ONE KNOWS MY NAME
HONEY ME AND YOU WE BLEW RIGHT THROUGH‘TILL EVERYTHING WAS GONE
LET THE WIND BLOW AWAY WHAT WE’VE DONE

BURNED HANDS’LL TEACH YOU BEST
ONLY BURNED HANDS WILL TEACH YOU BEST

Wires

Written By: Jeremy Edwards

I BEEN WORKIN’ ON THE WIRES INSIDE
BUT THEY’VE BURNED CLEAN OFF
TO MOVE A MUSCLE WELL I NEED A SPARK
TO LIGHT THE NIGHT

I’M HEADIN’ OUT BEFORE THE SUN MEETS THE SKY
AND I’M SLEEPING WITH SHAME
OH AND I DON’T KNOW WHY
I’M STILL CALLING YOUR NAME

HEY NOW I REMEMBER SOMETHING SWEET
JUST WHEN YOU’RE WALKIN’ OUT
YOU TURN AROUND WITH A SMILE
THAT’D STOP THE STREET
INTO THE NIGHT
INTO THE NIGHT

WELL EVERYBODY WANTS SOMETHING BETTER
EVERYBODY’S GOTTA BURY THOSE BONES
SOME FALL LIKE A FEATHER
OR DROP LIKE A STONE

HEY NOW I REMEMBER SOMETHING SWEET
JUST WHEN YOU’RE WALKIN’ OUT
YOU TURN AROUND WITH A SMILE
THAT’D STOP THE STREET
INTO THE NIGHT
INTO THE NIGHT

MY HEAD POUNDING TO THE BEAT ON THE RADIO
YOU STILL SCREAMING AS YOU’RE SLAMMING THE BACK DOOR
YOU KEEP ON RIDIN’ WHEN I’M FEELIN’ A LITTLE LOW
I’LL GIVE YOU A TASTE OF SOMETHIN’

HEY NOW I REMEMBER SOMETHING SWEET
JUST WHEN YOU’RE WALKIN’ OUT
YOU TURN AROUND WITH A SMILE
THAT’D STOP THE STREET
INTO THE NIGHT
INTO THE NIGHT
