Bio

You sure can sing dem notes on dat GIT-tar!
-- Mac Rebennack (Dr. John)

Jeremy Lyons -- versatile performer, slide guitarist, singer and songwriter -- plays in and with American music traditions. Drawing inspiration from his years as a blues-singing French Quarter street musician in the 1990s, Jeremy returns to his acoustic roots with a new record, Make It Better, due out in early 2014. Fleet fingerpicking and bittersweet slide form a backdrop for Jeremy's often ironic tales of habits and heartache, disillusionment and devotion.

His playing has a depth thats oozed up from the grime of the New Orleans streets hes called home.
-- Blues Revue

After Jeremy retired from the street, his trio The Deltabilly Boys star rose, first in New Orleans, playing clubs and festivals (seven appearances at Jazz Fest), and also on stages across the US and Europe. The Deltabilly Boys released five critically acclaimed CDs. In 2005, flooded out by Katrina, Jeremy resettled in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but left a big chunk of his heart Down South. He spends much of his time performing and recording folk music for children (Delta-Silly Music for Kids and Silly Goose Music), as well as fronting the Ever Expanding Elastic Waste Band, featuring members of the defunct low rock" band known as Morphine. With his new solo CD Jeremy links his old and new worlds, and finds a vehicle with which to bring his solo act to quality audiences.

His down-home yet elegant way with traditional material is a tonic.
