Bio
Jerian Lawrence Mainor (born June 14, 1990), better known by his stage name JERIAN, is an American rapper and songwriter .
"Don't mind them haters they know who we are hoping that we fail-- they wishing on a Star" says the young Chicago native. Jerian always knew he was a star but proving to the world he was would be one of his toughest challenges and for a long time he didn't know if it would be by being on the field or on the stage.
Writing raps since 10 and recording since 14, it wasn't until shortly after his 18th birthday where Jerian survived a near fatal gun shot to the neck that ended his sports career. While in the hospital in critical condition Jerian promised himself that if he were able to walk, talk and breathe on his own again that he would die trying to be one of the greatest hip hop artist ever.
Upon his recovery Jerian quickly gained local attention from his rap battles and freestyle ability that would earn him a spot on then up and coming rap battle league "Grindtime." It wasn't until after the highly publicized battle where Jerian realized that he didn't wanna leave his mark in hip hop as a battle rapper but as a great music recording artist.
Dropping mixtape after mixtape for the next couple of years it wasn't until 2012 when Jerian released "Michael Jordan Secret Stuff" that he started to gain popularity and notice his fan base growing from just the midwest.
Jerian would take this momentum continue to drop mixtapes, videos and freestyles online and eventually build up a buzz that enabled him to drop a EP: "The Son of Joe Louis" in early 2014.
Being the self proclaimed Rappin Fred Hampton Jerian continues to grow as an artist and is constantly connecting with his fans from shows to his strong social media campaign both better known as #BetterDays.
