"JWAP: A Year In Review"

Jerome and the members of JWAP are truly experiencing God’s promise that “a man’s gift will make room for him”. This has not been a group looking for events…the events have been seeking them out.

JWAP VENUES

January 2007 marks the release of JWAP's debut CD entitled
"I Live For Your Love". Here is an overview of some events

• Out of 100 acts, they were selected as one of the two gospel groups to perform at the Triangle area's Women's Empowerment Expo
• Guest artist for Duke Chapel’s International Service for Medical Professionals
• Opened for Virginia Mass Choir @ NCCU Silver Anniversary Gala
• Exclusively contracted to perform for Duke University's R. David Thomas Center Gospel Brunch

"Durham Group Ready To Go National"

By Evelyn Howell
Published Sept. 27, 2007

DURHAM - Jerome Waller & Anointed Praise are ready to introduce their musical gifts to the world.
The group will perform at the International Gospel Industry Retreat for Bobby Jones Presents in November on The Word Network.

Waller, along with his wife, Terri, formed the 13-member group three years ago at First Calvary Baptist Church in Durham.
Waller said each member is talented and has many years of singing experience. "Our drummer has a CD out in England," said Waller who is also associate music director and a representative of Gospel Music Workshop of America. "Everyone in this group is a member of this church, and everyone's heart is into this group because we share the same vision."

Waller said the group wants to do more than just entertain.
"We want to deliver a message that God is still here, and he still loves and cares about us," he said.

Since the debut of their CD,"I Live for Your Love," which was released in January, the group has seized many opportunities, including performing at the recent Women's Empowerment Expo. The CD includes traditional and contemporary tunes which Waller and Terri co-wrote.
The Wallers have been singing and performing together since high school.

"We go way back," Terri Waller said. "We have been best friends since junior high school."
Starting a music ministry costs money, and the Wallers have had their share of hardships throughout their journey.

"By being an independent artist, people don't seem to take you seriously. This makes it difficult to promote your music," Terri Waller said. "But this is our calling."
"One must decide that this is the ministry you want to be in and stick with it," Jerome Waller said. "Don't give up on your vision."

The Waller's have three daughters who are also members of the group. In the coming months, they are scheduled to perform at the 2007 Apple Chill Festival (now called Festi-Fall) in Chapel Hill, and at the 2007 Thomas Dorsey Gospel Choirs & Choruses-Raleigh Durham Chapter Christmas Gala.
Their CD can be purchased at www.jeromewaller.com and The Know Book Store on Fayetteville Street.

Bio

Get ready for the unfolding success of Durham's newest and hottest gospel artists Jerome Waller and Anointed Praise (JWAP). Durham has embraced this awesome group and JWAP as they are affectionately called has taken Durham and the nation by storm. This fifteen member group was birthed from a vision given by God to Jerome and Terri Waller.
January 2009 marked the release of their debut CD entitled "I Live for Your Love". Since their CD release concert, "I Love You Jesus" from that debut CD was selected for the 2011 Gospel Music Workshop of America CD release due out in the summer. (being sung by Stellar Award nominee Gaye Arbuckle). "JWAP" has performed at the triangle area’s highly anticipated Women’s Empowerment Expo where they shared the stage with such artists as Rev. Hezekiah Walker, Natalie Cole, and Jeff Majors to name few. The group was also invited to perform in the “City of Durham Music Festival” and the city of Chapel Hill’s Festi-fall Celebration. To their credit, they have performed in the “New Artist Showcase” at the International Gospel Industry Retreat airing on “The Word Network” and are slated to perform for the “Bobby Jones Show “The Next Generation” airing on “The Gospel Music Channel” later this year. Most recently Jerome Waller & Anointed Praise was nominated for “Contemporary Gospel Group of the Year” by the North Carolina Gospel Announcers Guild.

As a trailblazing derivative of Durham, North Carolina, Jerome Waller & Anointed Praise is patterned after such musical influences as Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond and Durham’s own John P. Kee. Combining a unique blend of traditional gospel, R&B, jazz and a healthy dose of urban flavor, JWAP possesses a versatility that is second to none.

For bookings, please contact Terri G. Waller at 919-323-0873 or learn more about JWAP by visiting them at their website www.jeromewaller.com or catch their music video and other performances on youtube.
