Bio
Growing up in small town Louisiana, Jerrod Phillips always knew there was more outside of the small town. Jerrod got his first guitar his junior year of high school as a Christmas present, but didn't really start playing and writing until 4 years later. In 2005, Jerrod put music aside for a little while and made the big move to Los Angeles to experience a little bit of what he had always heard about. After 5 years of growing up and learning what life was about, music made its way back into his life with a little help from the purchase of Bob Dylan's bootleg recordings. In December 2009, Jerrod packed up what little he owned and moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a songwriter/singer. Jerrod's ability to capture the audience with his original stories and sincere delivery have made him a crowd pleaser at local writer's nights and music venues. Jerrod is highly influenced by Vince Gill, Damien Rice, Coldplay, The Goo Goo Dolls, Dierks Bentley, The Fray, Copeland, Bob Dylan, David Nail, Wade Bowen, and the countless number of amazing songwriters in Nashville. A little bit country, a little bit pop, and a little bit of everything else, Jerrod is sure to make an impact with his original "coffeehouse country" feel.
