Bio

Singer/Songwriter Jerry K. Green is a Native Texan, born in Dallas and raised in the near-Dallas then-small-town of Lewisville, who now resides in the near-Nashville small city of Hendersonville, and is available for appearances anywhere in the USA and other English speaking countries.

Green has retired from his "last day job” and now devotes full-time to his renewed Singer/Songwriter activities. He has a new batch of songs and “Has Guitar, Will Travel. “

His professional credits include many appearances on the Grand Ole Opry and Louisiana Hayride, Billboard chart records, Hotel Lounge and Night Club engagements in Texas - as a single act and with his dance band - and an Acting role in the Warner Bros. film Outlaw Blues with Peter Fonda and Susan Saint James.

In his “first go at it” Green's songs were recorded by artists on Columbia, Capitol, United Artists, and several independent labels in Nashville and Texas, but it was Green's own recording of his true-story song Tripod The Three Legged Dog that introduced him to the Nashville music community in memorable fashion when Tripod dropped a "bomb" on the brand new baby blue carpet in the private office of a major label executive. Jerry did NOT get on that label.

As a youngster, Green won talent contests on the Big D Jamboree in Dallas and at the Texas State Convention of the Future Farmers of America, then performed at the FFA national convention and subsequently was a Special Services entertainer in the Army.

Green’s song “Ernest, Eddy, and Hank” illustrates his early musical influences.

Green is a former Air Personality with a Radio/TV Bachelors Degree from The University of Texas, whose "day-job" credits include The Host of Shamu Stadium at Sea World of Texas' Killer Whale Show during the theme park's debut season; Program/Music Director and/or DJ at Radio Stations WENO, Nashville; KVET, Austin; KOKE, Austin; and KFPW in Ft. Smith, Arkansas; as well as TV stints as News Anchor, Sports Director, Weathercaster and Commercial Announcer, at WSM-TV, Nashville; KTBC-TV, Austin; KTAL-TV, Shreveport, and KLBK-TV, Lubbock.
