The best kept secret in music

This Grammy nominated (record)... is an album of artfully created songs more concerned with harmonic subtleties than expansive unbridled soloing... Jerry Tachoir's vibes reflect the character of the band: cool, restrained and fluid. - Musician Magazine

The music o their recent CD (all of which was composed by Marlene Tachoir) is consistently melodic, open to outside influences (while always being jazz-oriented), makes expert use of repetition and is generally quite enjoyable. Marlene's wordless vocals in the ensemble add color to this upbeat music while Tachoir's vibes and marimbas sound like a cross between Gary Burton and Dave Samuels. Worth checking out! - JazzTimes

The Jerry Tachoir Quartet's new album, Canvas, is the type of record people who think they don't like jazz ought to listen to. The compositions - all by Marlene Tachoir - have a very positive, moving (meaning "going places") feel. The Tachoir's first and foremost consideration is jazz and as Canvas proves, they do it well.
- The Tennessean

Mallet artist Jerry Tachoir has developed his musical concept into a finely tuned vehicle for virtuoso performances utilizing original compositions primarily by award winning composer/pianist, Marlene Tachoir.
The instrumental choices and compositional diversity makes this ensemble unique. The flowing contemporary tunes utilizing the vibraphone and the latin flavored jazz with Jerry on the marimba creates a diversity that is mesmorizing.
