JERZEE - a girl just wants to rock!
Jerzee sounds like New Jersey and it should, because the big stars of that state are high on Jerzee's list of favourites. They inspired and influenced Jerzee with her debut album "It's me".
In 2005 the jury of the German renowned rock and pop musicians Federation (DRMV), selected Jerzee winning the categories “Folk Rock” and “Country”. The jury said the great and expressive songs get under the skin. This was quite an accomplishment because Jerzee's actual musical career didn't begin until nearly a year before the award ceremony.
Jerzee knows exactly what she sings about. Born in the former Eastern Germany back in 1981 as the daugther of a musician Jerzee learned very early the harsh life of music business. Her youth in north eastern Germany falls exactly in a very difficult period of change. The collapse of the Berlin Wall and steadily rising unemployment in this region including the upcoming fear of losing their livelihood did not discourage her family to give up. Jerzee, at the tender age of 16, decided to put her life in her own hands. Together with a good friend she worked on her first appearances on stage. In 2002 Jerzee went to Berlin and made a commitment as a background singer on the successful „Delicious" tour of Jeanette Biedermann, one of Germanys famous music artist.
In the end of 2007 Jerzee, together with her „Great Fabulous Band", created her own first studio album. The soulful arranged rock songs and ballads describe love, disappointment and hope in the life of a young woman. Just as the title track of the album "It's me", which describes courage about making your own way against all the doubters and know-it-alls. The identically named single got german-wide multiple radioplays and hits a playlist on WDR2, Germanys biggest radio station. Also a comprehensive press promotion was not without effect.
In 2008 and 2009 Jerzee and her band went on a tour through bigger German cities and promotion shows for big german radio stations. The nationwide tv-station rtl reported on the work of the newcomer. In spring of 2009 Jerzee produced and advertised on her own the current ep "Face To Face".
At the moment Jerzee and her “great fabulous band” work on a second album which is scheduled to come out early 2011.
