Jess Write

The famed late Dr. Howard Thurman said,
“Don’t ask what the world needs.  Ask
what makes you come alive, and go do it. 
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”  Producer, songwriter, musician, and
philanthropist Jess Write, a native Chicagoan, took this admonishment to heart.  Against the backdrop of a music industry that
was rapidly changing due to the advent of the digital age, Write launched out
into the deep.

Developing a unique and experimental
sound that was honed in the Black church, often known for its spontaneity and
inspiration, Jess would offer the world something fresh and new.  Partnering with R&B legend, Dave
Hollister, Jess provided production on a 5 records on Hollister’s breakout
gospel project, The Book of David: Vol. 1 The Transition.  The album went on to debut number one on
Billboard’s Gospel Chart.

After releasing a number of independent
projects featuring his dynamic production, Jess Write has discovered his own
special voice as an artist.  Moving from
behind the scenes to the fore has been a seamless transition for this P.K.
(preacher’s kid).  Sharing a message of
love, hope, and inspiration, his solo debut, Because I Can, is positioned to
make an enormous impact in the industry. 
Sophisticated songwriting, electrifying production, and passion shine
bright, giving new meaning to soul music.

In addition to music, Write is also a
philanthropist working in Third World countries, namely Haiti, to improve the
lives of its citizens through his Team Life organization that goes to Haiti
assisting in rehabbing and building schools, water wells and chicken farms.
