JESSE LIVES is a rare combination of college educated business with a respected street savvy background as an ex stick-up-kid on the South and East side. JESSE ended up receiving a football scholarship that may have saved his life; pulling him out of his environment and exposing him to a bigger world outside of The South Bay. The contrasting experiences of school and streets resulted in a Master’s Degree in Business and a thorough understanding of how it’s done from Wall Street to Jump Street. After police murdered his brother in 2006, music took on an entirely new focus for JESSE LIVES. Based on the strength of a promise made to his late brother, JESSE stepped up to the forefront and began making mixtapes and classic songs such as “Mr. Invisible”, “What I'm Gone Do”, and the ever popular mixtape series “Footprints On the Moon”, which are still in rotation on East and West Coast radio stations.

In his latest EP “Dopefiene”, JESSE combines modern music elements along with classic Hip-Hop/Rap ideology to bring something completely different to the ears, yet familiar at the same time. Working alongside a brand new cast of tastemakers, producers, and young beatmakers from Chicago, Atlanta, and even Kansas City, JESSE LIVES is redefining the epitome of a modern day Rap artist. On “Dopefiene”, he breaks down the barriers with genre, tweaking songs like the synth-laden, hard-hitting “Lies”, the bass-driven, lip curling sound of the title track “Dopefiene”, the party bounce aspect of “This is For Everybody", and the classic Hip-Hop sound of “Tony Hawk Grindin”. These tracks will please even the most discriminating ear. To offer up a taste, JESSE will be releasing visuals and videos to coincide with each track of the EP on YouTube and Vevo. This is just the beginning of a series of projects and videos with this camp of music makers.
