Jesse Potter

Jesse Potter grew up in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia and was home schooled for the last 4 years of his education. He studied music as an independent, watching musicians such as Andy McKee and Justin King on YouTube. He also played in a few bands, which filled his life with all styles of music. Songwriting was part of the natural progression as he developed his style and technique. He started three bands, The Chimney Swifts, The Funtime Brigade, and WineHardt. He continues to perform today with The Chimney Swifts, while also managing his solo career.

Jesse Potter announced the release of his debut solo CD “Leavin’ Ain’t Easy” in 2011. His single “Bones” led the way. This song is about having a friend who understands you like no one else, that you can trust, or ask their opinion on just about anything at all. “Bones” is so delicious, smooth, jazzy, groovy, all at the same time. The catchy melody enhanced by the vocals creates such a laid back, cool effect leaving you in a state of elation. The rhythm makes you want to snap your fingers and sway with the beat. What Jesse Potter has is an incredible ability to connect to individual listeners as if he was singing just for them. His delivery is deliberate and personal. An extraordinary artist. Jesse Potter played Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival and the Fox Mountain Smokin’ Blues Festival in 2012. He also opened for the Deep Roots Festival’s Saturday night line-up on the main stage in 2010 as an emerging artist. In 2013 he toured across Canada with fellow artist Micah O'Connell, and performed in Ontario, Alberta, and B.C.. He is currently working on production of two new CD’s; one as a solo artist, and the first CD with The Chimney Swifts.
