Jessica Swick

I began playing guitar my sophomore year in high school when I decided to teach myself as part of a school project. Ever since then, I’ve been writing songs. I’ve wrote in the ballpark of 100 songs- mostly Contemporary Christian, but some country also. I honestly couldn’t sing a lick until I got my first Francesca Battistelli CD. She’s definitely the reason I learned to really sing out and push my voice.

  I never really had any help in developing my voice or songwriting skills, but yet, I have improved an immeasurable amount. For that, I give God the glory. I am a living testimony of how God uses underdogs so that it is clear who really did all of the work. Without Him, I not only wouldn’t have the voice to sing, but I also wouldn’t have the songs to bring. He gave me this gift and I plan to give it back to Him.

  Over the years I have never really tried to push my music, yet I’ve always been pushed farther and farther. This makes it clear to me that God will take me where He wants to as long as I am willing. This music career has always seemed like the world’s longest long shot- so long I never even liked to talk about it- but here I am. I am currently 21 years old, will be graduating in May of 2016 from Asbury University as an equine studies major and a worship arts minor, and God is really opening up this door in music. I am doing all that I can to enter into it, and I hope that you will support me in this time. God bless.
