Jessica Auer

Jessica Auer was born Jessica Rachelle Moon in the San Francisco bay area of California in 1984. Her parents were very young, still in their teens, and struggled at first to fill the roles of new parents and newly weds. God, in his grace drew them to him, though, and soon both had become burning spiritual lights in the family. Through them God began to rock the dysfunctional foundation that their own childhood had been built on. However, for His own reasons, He eventually allowed her parents to stumble in their christian walks and succumb to serious drug and alcohol addictions, conceived prior to their salvation.
The addictions and her parents subsequent separation dragged Jessica, her brother and mother into chronic homelessness and an early familiarity with the streets, loss, and independance. Jessica saw firsthand the desparation of single parenting as well as the entrapment of money, sin, and drugs. From her earliest childhood, however, Jessica’s life had been saturated with music. Days old, Jessica would sleep through band practices in the next room and was given her first guitar at age five. Learning to sing her heart out by eleven and write her own music by fourteen it became clear that music was the medium through which she could funnel all of her pain, experience, and hope.
Performing in college, it also became evident that her music, poignant and real, reached down into other people and moved them, and when God, again in his grace, brought her to Him in the spring of 2004, He chose to begin to use her gift of music as a ministry to others. “Singing has a way of opening me up and pouring out all of the things that have mattered to me and all the hope I have in God moving other people towards Him” ~ Jessica.
In 2008, she became engaged and three months later married Abraham Joseph Auer of New London, Wisconsin. The two had met on a Campus Crusade for Christ innercity and prison ministry project and had found a common love for music and passion for urban ministry. Their musical talents combined have set the stage for wonderful things to come. Together they have performed for small groups in Seattle and Missouri, California and Wisconsin. The Auers were blessed with their first child in April 2009, Hank Isaac Auer and look forward to whatever journey God decides to lead them on.
