Bio

Jessica's voice transports you to a time in the past. Reminiscent of classic folk singers such as Joan Baez, and Judy Collins, and singer/songwriters Sarah Slean and Tori Amos, Jessica joins together classical training, and a love for contemporary styles and music theatre. She is able create a sound that is both classic and modern, soulful, and pure.
"I grew up listening to classical music, opera, and musical theatre. My grandma loved her classics. When I would visit her on weekends, she would play her favorites on the piano."
Jessica's lyrical inspiration comes from life experience and her own personal trials and tribulations. Songs like "The Road" express her own personal pain and struggle, yet there is a strength in her voice and her music that is reflective of the strength she herself possesses.
On stage, Jessica's performance can often be described as theatrical. Songs like "Cuckoo" show her musical roots and a comedic side to her music.
From the day Jessica walked into her first group piano lesson at the age of 4, it was apparent that she possessed a true love and gift for music. She excelled in her piano studies, and later joined a childrens choir where she realized her passion for singing. "In choir, they would put me in the alto section because my voice was too loud. Ha ha. The choir director would always shout to me and tell me to sing quietly. I couldn't help it!" she giggles as she recalls.
Later, someone urged her to study classical voice, which she did. I spent most of my 'free' time practicing, at a lesson, or at a rehearsal. There were always competitions, master classes, coachings and performances, and even band camp in the summer!"
In addition to music, Jessica has acted in several commercials and has been seen in print advertisements. Jessica has performed her original music throughout Edmonton and has performed across Canada and the United States as a classical vocalist. After releasing an EP in 2012, she is currently gearing up to record her first full length album and preparing for a national tour in the summer of 2013. She still remains an avid fan and listener of classical music and musical theatre. "I will always appreciate my roots and where my musical journey began and I try to keep a bit of those roots in mind when I write [music]. I want to be able to touch others with my music the way that others' music has touched me."
