Jessica Errett is a songwriter from Omaha, NE, and also the front-woman for the indie rock band, Edge of Arbor. Jessica's original music has certainly matured over the past few years, but the theme of “simplicity is beautiful” always remains.

Biography

Jessica grew up in small town Iowa where her music career began playing guitar and singing at the local pizza shop. She then moved to Omaha, NE when she was 18 years old to attend college to study engineering. Since graduation, she is still living in Omaha and, over the past 5 years, has become very involved in the local and regional music scene. You may see her performing acoustically as a solo artist or with her indie rock band, Edge of Arbor. In fall of 2011, Jessica embarked on an east coast tour that took her performance to new cities, including New York, Chicago, and Boston.

Jessica's original music has certainly matured over the past few years, but the theme of “simplicity is beautiful” always remains. Her most recent EP release, Sleep Fast, My Love, captures that idea best.

Lyrics

Footsteps

Written By: Jessica Errett

The snow covers my footsteps, as I leave your door
Like they had never even been there before

The hazy sky wraps around me, as I go on my way
Sorry that I had to leave when you said stay

But these footsteps were only meant to leave
And their path never be retraced
And although your words still pierce my mind
Memories are so easily replaced

The brisk air sweeps across my face and clears my groggy mind
I run across the empty street and leave your world behind

But these footsteps were only meant to leave
And their path never be retraced
And although your words still pierce my mind
Memories are so easily replaced

Your smell still lingers on my shirt
I breathe it in so hard it hurts
Your familiar fingers were on my face
As if a memory you tried to trace

But these footsteps were only meant to leave
And their path never be retraced
And although your words still pierce my mind
Memories are so easily replaced

Sleep Fast, My Love

Written By: Jessica Errett

Sleep fast, my love
As the morning hours draw near
Please don't fret on tomorrow's fears
Until the first ray of sunlight appears

I don't deserve the way you look at me
'Cause you envision someone I used to be
So tell me, sweet, what am I to do?
When I don't deserve an ounce of love from you

Sleep fast, my love
As the morning hours draw near
Please don't fret on tomorrow's fears
Until the first ray of sunlight appears

I don't deserve the way you look at me
'Cause you envision someone I used to be
So tell me, sweet, what am I to do?
When I don't deserve an ounce of love from you
