The Fireflies

The Fireflies are nothing more than a wiley bunch of San Francisco hooligans stirring up musical mayhem wherever they can. In the beginning there were two. Long time friends, piano singer-songwriter Jessica Eschman and guitar rock n' roller Bob Tiews, started out as an accoustic duo playing gigs around town. But no matter how much they tried, they just couldn't rock hard enough. Thankfully, the gods of Craig's List smiled upon them, not once, but twice, and the two have now been joined by drummer David Machlan and bassist Eric Yeargen. The Fireflies draw from a wide variety of musical styles, from Americana and Country, to Soul and R &B, and of course, straight forward rock n' roll. Like the members of the Captain Planet team, their diverse musical backgrounds combine to form an unstoppable force -- a sound that is equal parts fresh and familiar. With an emphasis on lyrical integrity and infectious melodies, the Fireflies create songs that are relateable and cathartic without delving too deeply into self-seriousness. In the end, the Fireflies just love making music. They hope you don't mind listening.
